are saying today that Laodicea has to go back to
the Philadelphian condition before Christ can
come. I am not going to go into that issue,
because, you know, it’s a theological issue.
I will say this much, that there is reproof for the
Laodicean church, but there is something at which
you may be surprised. There are two churches that
have no commendation, and one of them is the
Laodicean church. God had no commendation for
us. And that is something that we need to know.
In view of this I would like to read you a quotation
here by Ellen G. White [3T 252]:
The message to the church of the Laodiceans is
a startling denunciation and it is applicable to the
people of God at the present time.
You mean to say that here is a church that has
present truth and God has no commendation? Isn’t
that a startling denunciation? And so we’re going
to see why. Why is it that we have no
commendation from Christ? Here is a church that
claims to have the truth, here is a church that
