Kuharik Heroes Among Us American Red Cross Honors VNA of Ohio’s Thomas Huggins with Hero Award The American Red Cross Greater Cleveland Chapter honored Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio psychiatric nurse Thomas Huggins at their annual Hero Award Ceremony in April. The award recognizes and honors ordinary members of the community who have shown extraordinary courage, compassion, character or humanity by saving or improving the lives of others. Huggins, who has been been a psychiatric nurse for nearly 40 years, was selected because of his courage, compassion and his success in persuading clients to take their medicine. The event took place at the Cleveland Convention Center downtown. Huggins was one of 10 others in the Greater Cleveland area to be recognized. Click here to view Thom’s story.
