Kentmere Parents and Students Learn About E - safety On Tuesday 7th February it was Safer Internet Day. This is an important day when young people learn more about how they can stay safe and responsible online. Kentmere Academy makes sure that its students understand how to use the internet responsibly. In Y5/6 SD we discussed E-Safety and cyber bullying. The children showed great maturity of knowledge of this ever expanding subject, with fantastic responses to difficult situations. Text Reminders Reminder that if you have changed your mobile number, remember to tell the school office as our text message service is a very important communication tool that is used. Parents were invited to our community safer internet evening, in partnership with our Wardle Trust partner school, Wardle Academy. Parents were given important lessons and resources on different aspects of staying safe online. Feedback has been brilliant, thank you to everyone who attended.

Super Scientists in 3 / 4 Year 3/4 VHS/TC have been enjoying learning about plants in Science. We have named the different parts of a plant, explained the jobs that they do and their role in the pollination and fertilisation process. We learnt what a life cycle means and about the life cycle of a flowering plant. We are now in the process of writing a non-chronological report to explain these processes in detail. KA Maths Workshop Thank you to all those parents who attended the Maths parent workshop. This was a wonderful opportunity for parents to see the new methods and strategies we use when teaching maths. You should have all received a copy of the Maths Calculation Policy which will also be some guidance for you. However, if you do have any questions please do not hesitate to talk to your child’s class teacher. KA Football News Our Y5/6 Football team attended St Mary’s at Middleton to take part in a tournament against other schools. The boys had the chance to show off our brand-new personalised Kentmere Football Kit and played fantastically. Well done!
