Would you describe the Volunteering Wales brand using the same three words? No 53% Yes 47% Would you describe the Volunteering Wales brand using the same three words? – comments I don't know enough about it I'm not really sure what the branding for this is. It looks a bit business-like and not like a youth logo It looks really good but I don't know a lot about it. I think their name could be represented better. however, it has very positive feedback. It's clear and understandable Off putting to younger people The logo does show unity and diversity but it is a bit boring. The logo is simple and gets the idea across to the audience. I would volunteer for an organization with a brand like that. 22

Promotion What do you think are the best ways for young people to get involved in volunteering? This question received a high response rate, suggesting young people are keen to share their views on this. For full responses see Appendix III. The most frequently recurring responses were: Through Schools (mentioned 35 times) Through Youth Clubs/ Centre (mentioned 22 times) Through better communication of the benefits of volunteering so young people understand what they can get out of it (mentioned 12 times) Via social media/ online/ websites (mentioned 7 times) Through University (mentioned 3 times) Do you think that volunteering opportunities for young people should be promoted separately to those for over 25s? 70% of respondents stated that volunteering opportunities for young people should be promoted separately to those for over 25s. However, it is possible that the question was misinterpreted as the overwhelming majority of responses referred to the need for equality and fairness between the age groups, implying that they meant there should not be a separation. Please explain why? Because it's the same work, it's with the same people, we should be treated the same. Because everyone have the same rights Because the same opportunities should be open to people of all ages Everyone should be given an equal chance no matter the age. They are both wanting the same thingjust to volunteer and make a difference so it shouldn't matter I think everyone should be equal and that everyone has the right to volunteer. I'm 25 and I still think of myself as a young person and will probably still at 26! But I can see why there may be a need to separate based on age. However I think it's not as inclusive and it's good for younger and older volunteers to interact with each other as they may not always have a chance to in the community. They should only be separate if the volunteering experiences are different, there isn't necessarily a year when a person changes into an older person. 23
