I have done lots for

I have done lots for citizen cymru Wales where you look at issues involved in the community. I have also helped in events at the millennium centre in helping run shows and being a volunteer for street games and show racism the red card. I volunteered in a school in Pentre bach (merthyr tydfil) . the school name was greenfield's and I used to teach sport to disabled children the most rewarding thing I have ever done. On the whole, respondents reported a very positive experience of volunteering with just over 50% rating it 5 out of 5 and 20% rating it 4 out 5. Overall how would you rate your experience of volunteering? 90 80 5 , 84 70 60 50 40 30 1 , 37 4 , 36 20 10 0 3 , 10 1 3 4 5 Comments made about respondents’ experience of volunteering included: (For Full Response see Appendix II) great environment and staff members were really friendly. Because I get a lot out of it and like to support Dr.M'z, helps me with my disabilities and makes me confident. I believe that in this world of consumerism and materialistic values rising we need volunteering and giving back to the community as the means of staying truly human and alive. Volunteering reminds me how grateful I am to live in such a beautiful world surrounded by beautiful and enthusiastic people. Learned skills that you never learn in formal education. Gave me experience that was useful when applying to university. Opened my eyes to the possibility of a career in the third and voluntary sectors. The school could have been more thankful for the work 8

Because I got to meet people from different cultures and learnt new things each day and the staff was very nice towards me as well. loved it got more out than you put in you grow your life feels more fulfilled From your experience, what are the best 3 things about volunteering? This chart shows that for respondents, the best things about volunteering are the new experience that they gained, that they made a difference to something they care about, making friends and having fun. More pragmatic benefits such as gaining certificates or helping them get into college rate much lower down than experience gained.
