concerned and may include the other document within the IDP 226 . It may be appropriate that an IDP review is conducted at the same time as a review for other plans. To ensure efficiency and effectiveness, there should be as much synergy as possible with any review processes that are required to take place in relation to a child or young person. This could mean having one meeting where the child or young person’s ALN is discussed at the same time as any other needs or requirements. 14.57 Where reviews are conducted at the same time, they must follow the legal requirements of the relevant legislation. Whilst it may be beneficial to undertake reviews of different plans at the same time, reviews and assessment of needs should not be delayed to the detriment of the child or young person. It may be that the plans will need to be reviewed separately to best meet the needs of the child or young person. 227 226 Section 23 of the Act. 227 See also Chapter 20 in relation to reviews of IDPs for looked after children.
