MAHMOOD UL HASSAN Chairman Islamic Aid mahmood ul hassan, an entrepreneur with diversified business and social interests, is the founder and chairman of islamic aid, an international relief and development charity that he established following his own experiences of being born and brought-up in some of the most deprived areas of pakistan. he has an mBa from imperial college, University of london. he started his career as a university lecturer in marketing and strategic management and most recently runs his successful portfolio of businesses specialising in marketing and management services and project and investment management. having fought in over 60 amateur fights, winning 2 national titles, adil anwar was picked for the Young england boxing team in 2005, where he came through against Young italy as the victor. a boxing fan from a young age, anwar had high aspirations to compete in the 2008 Beijing olympics until a near fatal accident almost ended his prospering career and set him back from the boxing world for 18 months. his impressive record of 18 fights 17 wins & 7 by knockout is a feat that not many people can showcase. anwar is a determined and challenged fighter and won the english title with only 4 days notice. today, he is recognized mostly for winning the light-welter weight prizefighter tournament in february 2012 and has now set his sights higher. anwar is a step closer to the British title as he prepares for his final eliminator. HUMAYOUN KHAN Easy Eastates humayoun khan was born in 1962 at a hill station of murree in the district of rawalpindi pakistan with a very humble back ground although belonging to the elite family of herat (afghanistan) from the maternal side. humayoun always had an innate business attitude therefore after settling down in the United kingdom around 20 years ago started his own business by climbing up the property ladder for starters and the property market entrepreneur by establishing property letting and management business in the cosmopolitan area of east end of london and within the span of few years became well known and trust worthy figure. also he has always been treated as the pioneer of letting and management service providers in the whole of east london. easy estates is one of his well established business ventures which has grown vigorously over the last few years and now covers various boroughs of london and listed as an accredited agency. 100

FINAL POWER 100 BOOK 2.59 TUE_Layout 1 14/02/2017 13:56 Page 101 ZACHARY LATIF Finance DR UMRAN CHAUDHRY NAVEED KHAN Entrepreneur Zachary latif joined tlG capital in 2011 to focus on credit and liquid markets. tlG capital is a company that invests in frontier markets, specifically Sub-Saharan africa, South asia & South east asia. the core focus is directed towards consumer led growth in sectors like healthcare driven by the rising middle classes. Zachary has traded emerging market debt and is a specialist in hard to value assets. he has also reviewed investment teams on projects as diverse from Uganda’s premier pharmaceutical plant to cancer health care facilities in west asia to the establishment of a family medicine practice in liberia (the only surviving clinic in monrovia after the civil war in liberia). Zachary has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and has a widely-read monthly newsletter on asset allocation within the credit markets. he holds a masters degree in finance achieved at the age of 18 from cass Business School in 2003. dr Umran chaudhry is a rising star in the world of healthcare. a Gp registrar, healthcare investment consultant, sports doctor, technophile, scientific philanthropist and medical relief worker are few of his titles. Umran initially trained as a surgeon with the royal college of Surgeons of edinburgh but to endeavour his philanthropic interests and community involvement, he trained in General practice. an active medical researcher, Umran has presented in national and international medical conferences. one of his special interests is innovative healthcare models and he runs his own consultancy firm advising on future healthcare investment opportunities. Umran was heavily involved with the 2005 pakistan earthquake relief efforts and he currently aspires to commission an international institute of Scientific philanthropists. recently he has founded the telemedicine club and aims to raise awareness of telemedicine, especially amongst junior doctors. dr chaudhry is also the team doctor for the British asian rugby association. naveed khan started off with very humble beginnings setting up in the back yard of his house working on his first car, his own. at the same time he was going to college, and also selling car parts on ebay. after completing his vehicle body repair course at keighley college and winning a national award naveed decided to concentrate fully on his passion for cars and took the decision to move into a unit and set a business up in 2003. initially the company was set up in 1000sq unit with just naveed and one member of staff. over time the business grew from strength to strength and eventually ended up occupying a 20,000 sq ft workshop. in 2011 the whole industrial site was purchased as a major investment and expansion. from vehicle body repairs the company also moved onto vehicle styling which lead to another company being born called Barugzai ltd design and manufacture of car body kits for cars such as lamborghini, ferrari and Bentleys. enkhanz currently employs nearly 50 staff. LATIF MIR Muslim Court chaplin latif is currently the only muslim court chaplain in the Uk. working part time for Bradford court chaplaincy Service since 2009 when this unique innovation was established. the charity prides itself on providing free personal, practical and spiritual assistance for all court users at both courts in Bradford. Sharing his time between roles as a community resource manager at a primary school where he is a valuable asset to staff, parents and pupils alike. living and working amongst the community, latif is seen as a positive inspiration to others. 2008 saw the birth of madrassa tul fatiha, the first madrassa to be run in the Uk as part of a state school. latif is currently the coordinator of the organisation, which is providing islamic teachings to140 students. the transferable skills and qualities he has gained have led him to be in a privileged position to help others. . 101
