She has worked with satellite tV channels mtV pakistan and aag tV. She also played a prominent role in the film Bol. her professional career began as a VJ at the mere age of 16 years old. however her dream was to become an actress and it started coming true when she started landing roles in tV series and films. alongside those she also modeled for various advertisement campaigns and fashion shows. mahira khan hosted the live show most wanted for three days a week on mtV pakistan, and hosted weekend with mahira on aag. She has worked alongside other VJs like anoushey ashraf and ali charlie. her breakout acting role was as khirad ehsan in the popular tV serial drama humsafar, which became one of the most widelyknown dramas of the pakistani tV industry. She was praised for her performance by both critics and fans. khan had her film debut in Shoaib mansoor’s 2011 Bol, in which she costarred alongside renowned singer atif aslam, humaima abbasi, and the supermodel iman ali. khalid patel is the founding director of Smart talk Uk ltd (StUk). he initiated the formation of StUk in 2005. Since formation, StUk made rapid growth in wholesales of electronics goods and now hold a good standing among companies dealing in mobile phone, consumer electronics goods & accessories. mr. patel moved to london in 1997; since he came to london he has completed his Ba (hons) degree in finance. after completion of his studies he started his career in an accountancy firm, where he learnt all aspect of the business & finance. later he started his career in Sales & marketing. during this period he worked with various top tier Uk companies as sales & marketing advisor. he then moved to the retail sector and joined phones 4U as Sales executive. mr. patel gained breath of experience and knowledge while working with phones 4U. he realised that the mobile phone industry has a lot potential & growth. Since 7 years establishment of the business, mr patel grown the business significantly based upon professional customer service, consistency of execution and integrity. this reflects on financials of StUk, for last couple of years the turnover of the company grows more than 365%. Saeeda ahmed established trescom in 2001, a high profile training and ‘community regeneration that works in improving economic, social and civic inclusion and accessibility for diverse groups in society. trescom work with communities and key governmental organisations on innovative and ground breaking projects to improve their service delivery to the public. Saeeda has the inside experience of working with communities that face multiple barriers and Saeeda has utilised her personal experience to make positive change in local communities through trescom. trescom director Saeeda ahmed has been recruited as one of twenty national Social enterprise ambassadors for the cabinet office as inspirational people across the United kingdom making a difference to society through business. the has spoken and been involved in over 60 events nationally and regionally on social enterprise, equality or social justice. She is currently leading on apprenticeship and foundation learning contracts at trescom. the latest award which was being shortlisted as regional finalist for ernst and Young Social entrepreneur of the Year 2011. in terms of appointments, locally to Yorkshire and humber, Saeeda has been appointed as a Board member for the University of leeds and has been on both the board of adventure capital fund and aspire. trescom have undertaken over 70 projects on tackling social and economic barriers in communities and worked with over 100 partnerships. trescom achieve our social objectives through training, policy development, research and community engagement projects. trescom regularly overachieve on their project outputs and their projects have won awards as they have contributed substantially in sustainable change in communities they have supported. during a 22 year career, nazir has prosecuted some of the most high profile cases in the country and advised on many others. many of his cases have set precedents for how the criminal law should operate. he initiated ground breaking conferences and seminars that have addressed; Stalking, crime in sport, Sexual explotation, airport crimes, ‘honour’ crimes, forced marriage, anti-social behaviour and gang crime.. the present high profile of these subjects owes a considerable amount to nazir’s tireless ‘campaigning’ on the issues. he leads nationally on several legal topics. in recent months he decided that 3 householders should not be prosecuted for killing intruders thereby clarifying the law on self defence. he led the criminal justice response to the disorders in manchester and Salford which brought great reassurance to a frightened public. he successfully prosecuted the man who killed indian student anuj Bodve in Salford and the gang that groomed young girls in rochdale. he advises Uk government ministers and trains lawyers and judges from other countries including the US and canada. he has responsibility for more than 100,000 other prosecutions each year. nazir is a tutor for several leadership programmes in the public and private sector. he has made presentations to dozens of diverse organisations in this country and abroad. he is on the european Union list of expert speakers. he has given hundreds of interviews in all forms of media. he is also legal adviser to the successful itV series “law and order Uk” and legal advisor to the BBc eastenders drama series. in addition to his cpS commitments, nazir gives a considerable amount of time to charitable work and is trustee of several. he is a Governor of Brunel University and unpaid consultant to voluntary sector organisations working with vulnerable people. nazir’s has received many accolades, in 2005, he was awarded an oBe by the Queen for his work with the cpS and involvement with local communities. he has also had the honour of being the only lawyer to ever prosecute a case before the Queen. in 2007, he was awarded the cpS’s public Servant of the year, named legal personality of the Year by the Society of asian lawyers, the Uk Government’s Justice award 2007 and awarded the daily mirror newspaper “people’s award” voted for by readers. recently he was awarded the asian woman magazine excellence award and the law Society/Bar council mentoring award. nazir was also selected for the asian power 100 along with the muslim power 100 list, thereby recognised as one of the 100 most influential leading muslims and asians in the Uk. 97
