Celebrating our Silver

Celebrating our Silver Jubilee COMMUNITY 11, TEMA Message to Founding Members, Immanuel Methodist Church C11 Tema on the Occasion of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Society. By V. Rev Jemima Amanor It’s not by chance that I found myself in Immanuel Methodist Church at this period of time. God has purposed it and His will has been accomplished. I joined this society in October 2014 as a member of the Church and I never regretted being part of the congregation. I salute the Founding Fathers and Mothers of this society. The Holy Spirit spoke to you to get this society established in a small way. You were obedient to the task and now the sacrificial seed you sowed has been nurtured by the Lord and is grown to be what we are seeing today. According to Mrs Fannie Sackey, one of the founding members, Immanuel Methodist society was first meeting in a wooden structure at the present Methodist University Tema campus. Through the hard work of members, construction of the church building was started in earnest and the foundation was laid. However, officials from Tema Development Corporation intercepted and put a ‘STOP WORK’ sign on the construction site. Members did not take this kindly. They had put in a lot of hard earned money. The Bible tells us in Romans 8: 28, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” The Lord knew the good intentions of the founding members but He had not purposed the construction of the Church building at that site. He wanted the best for His children. He made provision for a piece of land at the current site of the Church. Now to the glory of God, there is this beautiful Church building by the roadside, being admired by all who pass by. It’s position alone has brought some members into the Church. By the grace of God, a mission house has been built and a two storey multipurpose structure is also under construction, all on the piece of land the Lord provided. Methodist Hymn 504 speaks of what the founding members did. “Leave God to order all thy ways, And hope in Him whatever betide; Thou’ltfind Him in the evil days, Thy all-sufficient strength and guide; Who trusts in God’s unchanging love, Builds on the rock that nought can move.” 10 IMMANUEL S O C I E T Y

Celebrating our Silver Jubilee COMMUNITY 11, TEMA The founding members did a yeoman’s job by leaving God to order all their ways and building on the rock that nothing can move. We say Ayekoo!!! to you all. You could not have done it less. Your blessings are immense and fruitful. May the Lord grant all of you and your generations bountiful blessings, long life and fruitfulness in all you do. We are grateful to you for good work done! IMMANUEL S O C I E T Y 11
