Celebrating our Silver

Celebrating our Silver Jubilee COMMUNITY 11, TEMA IMMANUEL METHODIST WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP Immanuel Methodist Women’s Fellowship was started by six(6) sisters who came together when there was the need for the formation of organizations within the Immanuel society in 1992. These sisters were Esther Donkor, Rebecca Aidoo, Victoria Lartey and Sophia Inkumsah all from St. Paul Society. Sister Agnes Okyere from Calvary society, Adabraka and Sister Nancy Yamoah from Bethel Society, Community 8. They all had come to join Immanuel Society at that time. The sisters met regularly once a week on Fridays to have meetings. More sisters later came to join the fellowship and sisters Victoria Lartey, Lucy Boyetey, Rebecca Aidoo and AgnessOkyere were appointed as officers to steer the affairs of the fellowship. As with everything at its teething stages, the fellowship went through difficulties but with much prayer and the help of the Almighty God the fellowship was seen growing. ACTIVITES: The Tema Circuit was then under Accra District and Immanuel Women fellowship members participated fully in attending both Diocesan and Connecxional Conference and rallies. Weekly programmes on society levels were based on the connexional handbook eg. Talks, debates, Bible studies handicrafts, cookery, etc. INAUGURATION The fellowship was finally inaugurated on 24th January, 1993. It was the first fellowship to be inaugurated in the church. The officiating Minister was Rev. (CDR) E.O Arthur (RTD). Induction service was held that same day for the officers who were Sisters: Victoria Lartey (President), Lucy Boyetey (Vice President), Rebecca Aidoo (Secretary) and AgnessOkyere (Treasurer). The house mother were sisters: Sophia Inkumsah (Jane Noon), Juliana Lartey (Rose Little) and Mary Arkaah (France Green). 52 IMMANUEL S O C I E T Y
