Edwards Scholarship Foundation Criteria: Must be from a borough that is a member of the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs Must be accepted for admission to an accredited college, university, or school that offers a two or four year degree/certificate program Applicants are judged on knowledge, demonstrated leadership, and community service Applications are available in the School Counseling Office in March Deadline is in May James E. Award Criteria: Must write an essay explaining why he or she is deserving of this award and how it will be used in pursuit of higher education. Essay should include the name of the post-secondary institution you will attend and the course of study you will take This scholarship is available to everyone pursuing a post-secondary education Deadline is in April or May The Gilbert ‘Gib’ and Billie Allen Scholarship Criteria: Must have been a resident of the Port Allegheny School District for at least three years Have an interest in a health-related field Have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher Be accepted to a one, two, or four-year college or university Must submit a transcript, a list of non-school activities and extra-curricular activities, and a one-page essay on his/her main goal and how he/she expect to achieve this goal Award if $500 annually Deadline is in May 65
