ABOUT THE

ABOUT THE NEUBERGER

The Sarah and Chaim Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre engages approximately 50,000 students, educators, and community members annually through a vast array of programs and events. Central to the educational mandate of the Neuberger is to create opportunities to learn about the Holocaust that utilise primary sources, artefacts, and testimony, offering students and teachers accessible and pedagogically sound resources and tools for learning about the Holocaust in diverse 21 st century Canadian environments. 147 HOLOCAUST EDUCATION IN PEDAGOGY, HISTORY, AND PRACTICE The Neuberger offers a variety of specialised programs for both educators and students. Every year, we inspire thousands of students through commemorative and educational programming that include encounters with Holocaust survivors in our museum and at offsite education programming during workshops, symposia and Holocaust Education Week. For advanced training, educators can access seminars on how to teach the Holocaust as well as educator study tours. In addition to these opportunities, the Neuberger has many resources and teaching tools, including the Frank and Anita Ekstein Holocaust Resource Collection, which has access to the Shoah Foundation’s entire Visual History Archive of 54,000 testimonies.
