10 | February 16, 2017 | The glenview lantern news glenviewlantern.com Police Reports Glenview resident charged with identify theft after burglary Gerald Hacker, 36, of the 2500 block of Victor Lane, was charged with identity theft at 8:11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, after an investigation into the burglary of an unlocked vehicle in the 3700 block of Springdale Avenue. Personal items were missing from inside the vehicle on the morning of Jan. 12, and the crime is suspected to have taken place overnight. The reported loss from the missing items is $30. Although Hacker has not been charged with the burglary, police discovered the identity theft during their investigation. In other police news: Feb. 8 • Noel Bautista-Martinez, 18, of the 4100 block of Cove Lane, was charged with retail theft at 6:03 p.m. in the 4100 block of Cove Lane. Feb. 6 • Someone tried to pry open a garage door at 8:57 a.m. in the 600 block of Long Road. The reported loss is $100. Feb. 5 • Glen Kim, 63, of Glenview, was charged with disorderly content at 2:55 a.m. in the 4100 block of Cove Lane. • Eric Yoo, 29, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, having a BAC greater than .08 and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 8:33 p.m. in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. • An unlocked vehicle was opened and money was stolen from inside at 10:40 a.m. in the 2700 block of Glenview Road. The reported loss is $2. • Bottles of liquor were stolen at 1:01 p.m. in the 100 block of Waukegan Road. The reported loss is more than $500. • Bottles of liquor were stolen at 1:19 p.m. in the 100 block of Waukegan Road. The reported loss is more than $500. • Someone was grabbed by the arm without permission at 1:39 p.m. in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. • A person was knocked to the ground at 3:37 p.m. in the 500 block of Echo Lane. • A unlocked vehicle was entered and electronic equipment was stolen at 3:47 p.m. in the 800 block of Prairie Lawn Road. The reported loss is $500. • A vehicle was entered and money was stolen from inside at 3:55 p.m. in the 2600 block of Glenview Road. The reported loss is $5. • Alcohol was stolen at 5:59 p.m. in the 1300 block of Patriot Drive. The reported loss is $45. • A child was left alone in a running vehicle at 7:12 p.m. in the 100 block of Waukegan Road. Feb. 4 • A customer was denied access to a personal bank account at 1:24 p.m. in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. • A debit card was opened with someone else’s name and merchandise was purchased at 3:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of Silverwillow Drive. The reported loss is $500. Feb. 3 • Anthony Caraccio, 32, of Glenview, was charged with harassment by electronic communication at 3:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive. • Carlos Soto, 24, of Des Plaines, was charged with retail theft at 11:56 a.m. in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. • Pierre Brown, 28, of Evanston, was charged with driving with a suspended license and a broken red taillight at 9:31 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue. • A door lock was broken on a vehicle at 7:28 a.m. in the 1600 block of Maple Street. The reported loss is $100. • An unlocked vehicle was entered and personal items were taken at 2:59 p.m. in the 600 block of Windsor Road. The reported loss is $800. • Several credit accounts were opened using someone else’s information at 5:55 p.m. in the 700 block of York Road. • Someone attempted to enter a vehicle at 7:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of Patriot Boulevard. • A virus was placed on a computer and the owner was charged to have it removed at 4:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of Indigo Lane. The reported loss is $300. Feb. 2 • A license plate was stolen off of a car at 7:31 a.m. in the 2000 block of Johns Drive. The reported loss is $100. • Items were stolen from a house at 11:16 a.m. in the 1100 block of Juniper Terrace. The reported loss is $1,000. • Someone was soliciting money on a property at 3:39 p.m. in the 200 block of Waukegan Road. • Personal information was fraudulently used to open a credit account at 6:47 p.m. in the 2500 block of Central Road. • Someone took control of a computer and asked for bank information at 6:37 p.m. in the 1400 block of Pendleton Lane. Feb. 1 • Playground equipment was damaged at 7:46 p.m. in the 2500 block of Harrison Street. The reported loss is $1,200. • A person entered a house without permission and took personal items after another person asked the resident to look in their backyard at 3:49 p.m. in the 100 block of Dale Street. • Accounts were opened under someone else’s name and merchandise was purchased at 6:36 p.m. in the 1600 block of Imperial Drive. The reported loss is $300. • A guest was in violation of rules and had to leave at 9:44 p.m. in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Jan. 31 • A customer had a dispute with a driver in a parking lot at 12:57 p.m. in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. • A contractor did not receive payment for his work from a general contractor at 1:05 p.m. in the 1000 block of Pfingsten Road. The reported loss is $4,000. • A mailbox was knocked off of a post at 4:43 p.m. in the 2800 block of Independence Avenue. The reported loss is $400. • A guest of a resident was yelled at for parking in front of a house at 5:52 p.m. in the 4500 block of Lilac Avenue. • A stolen telephone was sold at 5:52 p.m. in the 4500 block of Lilac Avenue.
