What is one essential you must have when studying and why? One essential that I must have when studying is either a study guide or flashcards to help me memorize. What do you like to do when not in school or studying? I like to watch Netflix, hang out with friends and spend time with my family. What is your dream job? My dream job is to be a doctor for children or to be a third grade teacher. What are some of the most played songs on your iPod? Some of my most played songs are “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri and “Treat you Better” by Shawn Mendes. What is one thing people do not know about you? One thing that people don’t know about me is that I love skiing. Whom do you look up to and why? I look up to my parents because they try their best at everything and they always find time for family. What do you keep under your bed? Under my bed is my flute, pillows and a mermaid tail I had gotten a couple years ago. Who is your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Soulian because I love that she likes to laugh but she still gives structure to her classroom. What is your favorite class and why? One thing that stands out about my school is that my school always tried its best to stop the bullying that is going around in our school. What extracurricular(s) do you wish your school had? One extracurricular that I wish my school had is show choir. What is your morning routine? When I wake up I brush my teeth, brush my hair, make my bed, put on a little make up, then get dressed and eat breakfast. If you could change one thing about school, what would it be? If I could change one thing in my school, I would have more activities in class than sitting and listening. I personally have a hard time paying attention when I am just listening. What is your favorite thing to eat in the cafeteria? My favorite thing to eat in the cafeteria is the pizza. What is your best memory from school? My best memory from school is that in third grade a bird’s nest was outside our window and we were able to watch the baby birds grow up over the year. School News Carthage College Lockport students named to dean’s list Miranda Gort and Michael Regotti, both of Lockport, were named to the dean’s list at Carthage College for the fall 2016 semester. Students who earned at least a 3.5 GPA and took at least 14 credit hours were named to the dean’s list. Southeast Missouri State University Two Lockport residents named to dean’s list Lockport residents Caleb and Rebecca Yaeger earned a GPA of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale while taking at least 12 credit hours to be named to the fall 2016 dean’s list at Southeast Missouri State University. Ashland University LTHS grad named to dean’s list Kayla Pfeiffer, a 2014 LTHS graduate and Lockport native, was named to the fall 2016 dean’s list at Ashland University. Dean’s list students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA. Pfeiffer is majoring in supply chain management. University of Dayton Lockport resident earns dean’s list honors Collin Russell, of Lockport, was named to the fall 2016 dean’s list at Unviersity of Dayton. Russell earned at least a 3.5 GPA to be considered for the honor. Saint Mary’s College Lockport student named to dean’s list Lockport native Ashley Hovorka was named to the dean’s list at Saint Mary’s College for the fall 2016 semester.
