Brief Biography
Michael James Lazarus Sr. served with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (Ministry of
National Security) for 25 years, before retiring as a sergeant. He spent 20 years at the
Academy as the Primary Firearms, Defense Tactics, Street Survival Tactics, and
Use-Of-Force Instructor. He was also directly responsible for the Training / Educating,
Assessment, Evaluation and Certification of all Instructors. He was the elected Chief Field
Instructor for the Organized Crime & Narcotic Unit (O.C.N.U.); Crime Suppression Unit (C.S.U.);
Emergency 999 Unit and Highway Patrol Division (H.P. Div.). He is a graduate of the Federal Law
Enforcement Training Center (F.L.E.T.C.) in Glynco, Georgia; and has been trained in Hostage
Negotiation, Crisis Management and Kidnapping Investigation by the United States Department
of Justice (D.O.J.). Other areas of expertise and training include:
