Kilbarchan Fairtrade Group
Kilbarchan enjoyed visits
from honey and coffee cooperative
chairman Ismael
Diaz Rivas who had been
flown over from Guatemala
for Fairtrade Fortnight. He
visited a Fairtrade stall in
Kilbarchan East Church,
where he met buyers and
spoke about the changes
brought about in his region
by being associated with
the Fairtrade organisation.
Batin, chairman, right Carol,
the cook!
His journey home had three
separate flights and a six
hour bus journey. Photo: the
Reverend Stephen Smith
met Ismael and Helena, his
interpreter. Moira Stark of
the village committee and
Fairtrade Fortnight was rounded off with a crowded and successful Friday curry
night in Bobbins tearoom. Thanks to Carol and everyone who helped out, and to
the folk who came along to support the event. The Fairtrade wine was donated
by the Kilbarchan branch of the Co-operative.
