AUCTION RULES

BID NUMBER – At Registration, each guest is

given an auction catalogue with a bid number

printed on the back, along with table seating assignment.

Please use your assigned bid number for all

bids in the Silent and Live Auctions and Fund-A-

Cure. Bid paddles will placed at your table; be sure

that your bid paddle matches the bid number on

your catalogue. Placing your bid number on an item

indicates a promise to pay for the item should you

become the highest bidder.

SILENT AUCTION – Silent Auction opens at 6:00

p.m. and will close at 7:55 p.m. The “Guaranteed

Bid” box on the Silent Auction forms ensures your

ownership of the item. When you enter your bid

number in the “Guaranteed Bid” box, you own the

item. Please write legibly and observe the minimum

bid and minimum raises. No bid may be made after

the auction is closed.

CHECKOUT INFORMATION - All sales are

final. There will be no exchange or refund on items

except where specified. Unless otherwise stated,

all dinners exclude alcohol, taxes and gratuities and

may have certain restrictions.

PAYMENT – At the end of the evening program,

the emcee will announce when checkout is ready to

be open. If you pre-paid at registration, simply to go

item pickup at the Auction Room for your receipt

and winnings. All items MUST be paid in full and

taken home this evening. We accept cash, checks,

and most major credit cards.


JDRF has endeavored to catalogue and describe the

auction items correctly, but all items are sold “as is.”

No statements contained in the program or made

orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed a

warranty, representation or assumption of liability.

Bidders should carefully note the specific restrictions,

conditions, and expiration dates for items

purchased. JDRF reserves the right to withdraw any

item from sale. Items depicted in the slide presentation

are for illustration purposes and may not be

actual auction items.

* NOTE: For tax purposes, the value of the meal,

including beverages, is estimated to be $175 per person.

When buying auction items, all contributions

in excess of the fair market value of the item are tax

deductible as a gift to the charitable organization.

The members of the Gala Committee encourage all

attendees, donors and contributors to consult IRS

Revenue Ruling 67-246 and their tax consultant or

attorney concerning the tax liability of gifts to this
