1. History

IEEE Shanghai Subsection was established in 1988 belonging to

IEEE Shanghai Subsection was established in 1988 belonging to

IEEE Beijing Section. It included Shanghai Municipality

and 5 provinces (Jiangsu, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi and

Zhejiang).


On 27 Aug. 2004, on behalf of IEEE Headquarter of

IEEE, past Chair of IEEE HK Section Y. W. Liu and

Chair of IEEE HK Computer Charpter Mingmin

Chen came to Shanghai to discuss about the

promotion of Shanghai Subsection to Shanghai

Section.

At the end of Sept. p 2004, , necessary ysigatures g were

collected and Shanghai Subsection formally applied

for the approvement pp from IEEE Beiing g Section to be

promoted to Shanghai Section. The application was

reported p to IEEE Headquarter q

at the same time.

In June 2006, the application was approved and

on 3 Nov. N 2006 2006, a notice ti was received i d ffrom IEEE

Regional Activities Vice President Pedro Ray,

promoted to IEEE Shanghai Section
