March may f<strong>in</strong>d themselves on a<br />
public tram that’s been converted<br />
<strong>in</strong>to an art space. Artist K<strong>in</strong>gsley<br />
Ng’s ‘Twenty-Five M<strong>in</strong>utes Older’ exhibit<br />
turns two <strong>of</strong> Hong Kong’s iconic public<br />
trams <strong>in</strong>to a dark room concept <strong>of</strong> camera<br />
obscura. Once on board, passengers view<br />
images <strong>of</strong> pass<strong>in</strong>g street life displayed<br />
<strong>in</strong>side the tram alongside texts from Liu<br />
Yichang’s famous story, Tete Beche.<br />
The exhibit is one <strong>of</strong> many from the Hong Kong<br />
Art Basel fair, as galleries, artists, collectors<br />
and art enthusiasts from Asia and the world<br />
congregate <strong>in</strong> the prestigious <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
art event. Art Basel <strong>in</strong> Asia features some <strong>of</strong><br />
the world’s lead<strong>in</strong>g modern and contemporary<br />
art galleries showcas<strong>in</strong>g pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs, sculptures<br />
and digital art such as videos by more than<br />
4,000 artists at the Hong Kong Convention and<br />
Exhibition Centre. The fair goes from March 23<br />
to March 25, <strong>2017</strong>.<br />
