No More (Airport) Nightmares
Got time at the airport? It can be an inconvenience
if you want to get comfortable and public benches
are the only choice. Now there’s a better option,
because rooms for rent are available at both
Bangkok international airports, at the basement
level of Suvarnabhumi and on the 4th floor of
Don Muang. Boxtel provides an hourly ‘sleep box’
service, offering 12 rooms that are soundproof
in a modest space of four square metres. With
free wifi and a small foldable table, the room can
be rented for four, six or eight hours. Prices start
at 1,250 baht (about US$35) for four hours. It
accommodates one person, which can be shared
with a child aged under 12. You can also request
for a wake-up call. The shared bathroom requires
a short walk. Unfortunately, there is no shower
at the Suvarnabhumi facility while the ‘Sleep Box’
by Miracle Group at the Don Muang airport, which
opened earlier, provides 25 rooms with a TV and
