FROM DIRECTOR TRACI MCKINNEY
I would like to take a moment and thank the new parents who came to this month’s
meeting. Its great seeing more parents getting involved with our PTSF. Again Welcome.
I hope to see you and more at our future meetings.
Our Multi-purpose room has a new addition. Thank you, Mrs. Pauley, for adding an
Apple T.V.
The new playground equipment has been installed. It looks great and our children are
loving the new addition. Because it took a little extra time getting it here and installed
the company fixed extra padding throughout the playground at no cost to us. Thank
you. The Church has graciously paid the remainder of the balance. Another BIG Thank
You to our Church.
Thank you to all the families who came out and supported our Spring Open House.
Lanakila Elementary is pleased to announce we have 7 new families who will be
attending our school this coming year.
School Choice was a big success. Our children enjoyed their field trip to the Capital.
Our video made the National School Website!! GREAT JOB LANAKILA! The kids
danced and held signs, many cars honked and waved. We even got to meet Ms. Hawaii
and have our photo taken with her.
I would also like to take a moment to give a Big Thank You to our High School. You put
on a wonderful Carnival and the Elementary school had a blast. Also to the Teachers
and Parents who helped out.
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time for our Spelling Bee. The
Spelling Bee was a great success. The PTSF concession stand profited a little over
$200. Thank you again for all the donations.
CONGRATULATIONS to the Lanakila Students who participated in the Spelling Bee.
Ryan Ahmadi, Nathaniel Simbajon, Dustin Casallo, Mason Itagaki, Kaleb Hickling,
FUNDRAISING
Our fundraising target this year is $20,000. With God willing we will do so much more. Our main goal this year
is to make the play area even better for our children. Some repairs are needed in this area as well as the fun
new piece of play equipment that was installed last month. See the School Wish List below and on our website.
LBES WARRIOR DISCOUNT CARDS
The cards are $20 each with amazing discounts that don’t expire till Feb 2018, the school will profit $10 for
each card sold. So far we have brought in over $2,800 in which half ($1,400) comes back to our school! Cards
are still on sale! Keep selling!
PAPA JOHN’S PIZZA NIGHTS
Please don’t forget about our Papa John’s Pizza nights. Another awesome fundraiser happening. If you order
from Papa John’s on a LBES night please save your sticker receipt from the side of your pizza box and/or reciept
bring it to school the next school day and a percentage of all reported sales will go back to our school. What an
awesome way to help our school and our hardworking parents by letting someone else take on the frustration
of making dinner. Thank you to all the families who have made and continue to make this a great fundraiser this
year. (November/December Earnings over $350!)
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Keep a look out for those Box Tops! They are on so many items you buy every day. Clip them and send them in
increments of 25 to school with your child’s name. For every 25 box tops submitted, your child gets an entry into
the quarterly drawing for a $25 Gift Card!!! Each and every Box Top counts. For participating products and
more information go to www.boxtops4education.com
SCHOOLMALL
SchoolMall is a great way to support your school by shopping at your favorite online merchants or donating a
Caring For Classrooms gift card. SchoolMall.com is an online shopping mall where over 200 nationally known
online merchants have agreed to give a percentage of sales to K-12 schools. Companies like WalMart.com,
Sears, Target, DisneyStore.com, Family Book Store, and Oriental Trading Company participate. Most merchant
contributions to your school will average 5%-10% but some go as high as 50% of sales! You can also donate a
Caring For Classrooms gift card to a student’s classroom. Your donation will be used by their teacher for books,
educational magazines and classroom supplies. Donating a Caring For Classroom gift card is a wonderful way
to enhance the reading and learning experience for an entire classroom.
POP YOUR TOP ON YOUR SODA CAN!
Recycle your cans and plastic bottles and aluminum can tabs at school. See Mrs. Roland, our Kindergarten
Teacher, for more information. This is a simple easy way to give to the School.
ADVERTISING
We love seeing our school grow. We would like to
invest in advertising our school more–to get some
buzz going about how great we are. But we all know
advertising is costly. Our hope is to be able to collect
donations–large and small–to help us on this new
venture. If you donate to the school, it is possible to
designate your funds directly to advertising. To do
this, see Mrs. Pauley.
Mckinney at tracimckptsf@gmail.com. Our goal is to
