Howdy: That’s me below, Larry Dixon just in case you were curious, my studio is located in my home at Morehead, Kentucky. I have forty plus years behind the lens photographing numerous weddings, creating images for Blue Grass record album covers, custom senior portraits, and other fine images. I have photographed numerous special events that included Governors Bert T. Combs and Paul Patton. I photographed on special assignment George Jones in concert. I created a slide presentation on home-bound students for the Kentucky Department of Education. I served as the official photographer for the Marine Corp Reserve in Fleming County for WW II hero Franklin Runyon Sousley's memorial dedication. He is one of the six flag-raisers in the famous photograph of United States Marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima. I spent a week alongside National Geographic Photographer Karen Kasmauski as she photographed a story for the National Geographic magazine. Headshots The headshot is your brand you are the representaive of your business. People spend more time looking at the photos on your facebook page or website than reading the text. using the same headshot on all of your promotional material helps build familiarity and builds confidence in you. A professional headshot shows professionalism and you want to look like the person in the photograph so people will recognize you. Whats the difference between a headshot and a portrait? The headshot usually shows on only the head and shoulders with the backgroud out of focus with the attention on the eyes and the face. A portrait can show the person sitting at their desk or work enviroment perhaps showing them activaly engaged in their job. Your headshot should be updated every year or two or when there is drastic change in your appearance. So who needs a professional headshot?
