WHAT IS CPCI CERTIFICATION?
The Canadian Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute Certification Program is a governing
body that audits its members twice annually to ensure quality assurance in the precast
concrete manufacturing industry. It is designed to give owners, contractors and designers
the confidence that certified precast manufacturers are qualified and competent to
manufacture quality products and deliver them to the marketplace.
As a B4 and C4 certified plant, we are held to the highest standards of production. CPCI’s
stringent precast certification program audits it’s members with a pass or fail evaluation to
ensure that all stages such as quality, documentation, production procedures, engineering,
personnel, equipment and finished products are held to these industry standards

Eagle Builders Certification
C4 – Prestressed Deflected-Strand Structural Members
Precast concrete structural members made with deflected pretensioning or posttensioning
strands for roofs and floors, beams, joists, and all products in C1, C2, and C3.
B4 – Prestressed Deflected-Strand Bridge Beams (Superstructure)
Precast concrete bridge members that are reinforced with deflected pretensioning or
post-tensioning strands. Included are box beams, I-girders, bulb-tee beams, stemmed
members, solid slabs, and all products in B1, B2, and B3.

CPCI’s prime objective is public safety. It’s important to understand that not all precast
is created equal and that when you buy from a non-certified plant, you run the risk of
purchasing poorly produced products because they are not held accountable to meet
basic industry standards.
So what does CPCI mean for you?

OUR HISTORY
Eagle Builders was a dream turned reality by its founder,
Dan Haan. Around 1979, Dan began noticing the numerous
benefits of concrete walls when used in agricultural
applications. He saw the maintenance time and costs
incurred in traditional wood buildings were draining the
profits of the large corporate hog operation that he was
managing at the time. Dan soon recognized that the large
and truly profitable operations were built of concrete, thus
reducing maintenance costs and increasing profits.
Dan started Eagle Builders with the help of his family in
2000. The business started out as a primarily agriculturalbased
precast business, providing quality yet affordable
wall systems. Over time, Eagle Builders has rapidly been
able to expand its services beyond the agriculture industry
into commercial, industrial, and infrastructural applications.
After Dan’s passing in 2003, Eagle Builders was handed
down to his children. With Dan’s vision in mind, the core
of the business’s values still stand in his name, and we
have continued to grow and expand based on those
foundations. Our business has flourished through the
testimonials and referrals of our satisfied clientele. Even
while we grow, we will continue to stay true to our familyowned
roots while producing a superior quality product
that raises the bar of industry standards across Western

Located in rural Alberta, two hours east of
Edmonton, it is situated in a fairly remote location.
The growing town of Wainwright is home to over
6,000 people. That’s why Mark’s needed a new retail
building to distribute their products to the citizens
of Wainwright and the surrounding area. The project
was designed as a 12,670 sq ft building with precast
wall heights reaching 25ft. It took one week to erect
all of the precast components including the grade
beams, wall panels and columns. Within three weeks
the building was fully enclosed and after five months
the project was complete.

KEYAG KUBOTA
RED DEER, ALBERTA
In mid 2015, Eagle Builders was contacted by KeyAg Ventures to design and build a new
precast Kubota dealership along Highway 11. After being awarded the contract, Eagle
Builders broke ground and cast-in-place foundation walls were poured. The complete wall
assembly was manufactured in a plant controlled setting using concrete, structural steel
and polystyrene insulation. It took a total of four and a half days to manufacture all precast
components. With a crew of five employees, Eagle Builders erected 110 structural precast
wall panels in only eight days using a 165-ton mobile crane. The building envelope was
completed in only five weeks with all precast, steel components, doors and windows. Once
enclosed, heat and floor prep began so concrete floors could be poured with no additional
hoarding costs. The large 12ft wide precast panels used on this project were engineered to
have fewer joints, reducing air infiltration and thereby helping maximize energy efficiency.
The wall assembly was installed with a steel roof system and fitted with R-30 Duro-Last
Roofing. What sold the owner on building with precast was its longevity, flexibility and
thermal properties. This project was designed with flexibility and expansion in mind:
multiple knockout walls, ground work for future overhead cranes and extra available office
space were all incorporated. Other unique features consist of a showroom scissor lift,
fitness facility, patio and large curtain windows. This project took a total of five months
to complete and will last for generations, requiring minimal maintenance throughout its
service life.

EVERGREEN SOLUTIONS
ALDERSYDE, ALBERTA
Evergreen Solutions is a design and development company that manufactures
environmental cleaning solutions for industrial use. After rapid success and growth,
Evergreen needed a new production and office facility that was safe and allowed for
expansion. They contacted Eagle Builders to design-build their new building located 25
km south of Calgary, in Aldersyde, Alberta. The project was constructed using insulated
precast wall panels and a steel roof system, making for a 100% non-combustible building.
The total grade footprint of this project was 35,034sq.ft with a wall structure consisting
of 150 precast panels. From breaking ground to handing over the keys, this project took a
total of seven months to complete. Some special features of this project include: 4-hour
firewalls, a gym and basketball space, three different concrete textures, and blowout
walls for future expansion. Because of the longevity, thermal efficiency and aesthetics of
precast, Evergreen will be able to expand operations, save on HVAC costs and produce
environmental solutions for years to come.

Pidherney’s is a civil construction company that
operates out of Rocky Mountain House and
Blackfalds, Alberta. Prior to contacting Eagle
Builders, Pidherney’s was preforming mechanical,
maintenance and inspection services all under
one roof, which limited their space. In 2015 they
contracted Eagle Builders to design-build a new
shop facility that would relieve the workload from
their Rocky Mountain House location. Screw piles
were installed in February to save time and money
due to winter construction. Once completed, Eagle
Builders erected 93 precast panels in only five days.
This building was designed with two wash bays, an
overhead crane, oil separator, a parts department
and much more. The project took five months to
complete and has helped Pidherney’s with their daily
maintenance operation.

BIM
As we reach new and exciting heights in architectural design, construction detailing
and coordination needs to follow with state-of-the-art clash detection. That’s
why we use BIM. From our design department to our steel supplier, we
use Building Information Modeling to spot and resolve design
