MAHILA CONVENTION 2017 – CHAPTER III - A RECAP<br />

MAHILA CONVENTION 2017 – CHAPTER III showcased<br />

a splendid enthusiasm togetherness, strong team effort and a<br />

well organized programme of the Mahila Vibhags of KNSS<br />

across Karnataka. Mahila Convention 2017 was conducted<br />

at MMET School Auditorium, MS Nagar, Bangalore on 5th<br />

Mar 17 also as a celebration of International Women’s Day.<br />

It was conducted under the aegis of KNSS Board Members<br />

Sidda Hospital, were felicitated for their contributions in<br />

their respective fields.<br />

This was followed by the Thiruvathirakkali by the Core<br />

Committee members led by Smt Shantha Manohar from<br />

Mathikere Karayogam and Smt Maya Srinivasan from<br />

Jayanagar Karayogan and team which was highly applauded.<br />

Key Note Addresses:<br />

Wings across Karnataka. The programme was a grand<br />

success with participation of more than 700 members from<br />

the Karayogams.<br />

As scheduled, the programme started at 9.30 a.m by lighting<br />

the lamp by our Chairman Shri Ramachandran Paleri, the<br />

Women in upbringing of family and society. He spoke<br />

on Motherhood, inter personal relationships at home<br />

and society, and the importance of vedic knowledge<br />

and its teachings in our daily lives. The talk inspired the<br />

members present and was well appreciated<br />

Mahila Vibhags across Karnataka participated. Outstation<br />

Mahila members from Bellari, Hospete, Mysore, Madikeri,<br />

KGF and Shimoga participated. We convey our sincere<br />

gratitude to all the outstation mahila members, for their<br />

enthusiastic participation in the event. It was amazing to<br />

see that being a Sunday, all our members had assembled in<br />

Women’s College, Calicut, spoke on the medicinal/<br />

cosmetic/purifying properties of charcoal and its<br />

usage in our daily lives. She also mentioned how with<br />

modernisation, the values of these ancient healthy<br />

remedies are being lost. Hence it is time we revive the<br />

value of these products and get back its usage into our<br />

daily lives, for a better healthy tomorrow.<br />

The invocation was rendered by Kum. Sharanya,<br />

Doorvaninagar followed by Acharya Vandanam by<br />

mahilas of Chandapura Mahila Vibhag, headed by Smt<br />

Supriya Priyesh and Smt Srilatha Anil. Pataka Vandanam<br />

Visual marked its excellence with participation of the core<br />

committee members and mahilas from various Mahila<br />

Vibhags. We thank Smt Hemalatha, Secretary Mahila<br />

Vibhag Rajaji Nagar for organizing the Pataka Vandanam<br />

visual. We salute Shri Krishnan Nambiar, PRO for the<br />

eloquent and powerful lyrics of the Padaka Vandanam.<br />

The Mahila convenor Mrs Rajalakshmy R Nair, then gave<br />

the welcome address. Chairman Shri. Ramachandran Paleri<br />

appreciated the Mahila Vibhags in conducting of the<br />

Mahila Convention 2017, for the third consecutive year,<br />

which represented a good team effort and the organisational<br />

skills of the Mahila Vibhags. Vice Chairman-I & Mahila<br />

Vibhag Advisor Shri Adv V Vijaykumar, too appreciated<br />

the unified efforts of the Mahila Vibhags to achieve greater<br />

heights. Then Mahila Board representative to Board, Smt<br />

Shobhana Ramadas, in her speech gave the annual report of<br />

the core committee with future activities. General Secretary<br />

Shri. Manohara Kurup, KNSS Treasurer Shri Vijayan,<br />

MMET President Shri OVP Nambiar and Secretary Shri<br />

Radhakrishnan Nair, congratulated the Mahila Vibhags for<br />

the team effort and wished everyone a Happy International<br />

Womens Day.<br />

Felicitations : Smt Indira Balan well known poet and writer,<br />

and Dr. Mini Nair, Head of Ayurhealing, Ayurveda and<br />

The inaugural function was concluded by the vote of thanks<br />

by Smt Sreekala KB, Jt Convener.<br />

Cultural Programmes: A Patriotic song by Smt Shiji,<br />

Mohiniattam by Smt. Sowmya Ranjit, Dance performance by<br />

Shri Shanu and team and a fantabulous dance by our Youth<br />

Wing, rocked the floor. Mahila Core Committee members<br />

rendered a Family skit and finally the grand Fashion Show.<br />

The skit was written by Smt Ammini Gopan Horamavu<br />

Karayogam, with direction and script written by Smt Sindhu<br />

Jayesh, Bommannahalli Karayogam. The fashion show led<br />

by Smt Baby Chandran Tippasandra Karayogam, Smt Maya<br />

Krishnakumar MS Nagar and team was outstanding. It was a<br />

great team event and this convention showcased maximum<br />

participation from all the Mahila Vibhags. Our 35th Mahila<br />

Vibhag : The adhoc committee members of the 35th Mahila<br />

Vibhag formed at Sarjapur were introduced during the<br />

event. The programme was anchored by Smt Haritha and<br />

Miss Nitya Raveendran, under the able guidance of Smt.<br />

Sreekala, Jt Convener who kept the show in high spirits<br />

and enthusiasm. Hats off to them. The programme concluded<br />

at 2.30 pm and was a grand success, adding a feather on to<br />

the cap of the Mahila Vibhags for the third consecutive year.<br />

We thank Shri Ramachandran Paleri, Chairman KNSS and<br />

his team for all the support rendered in conducting the event<br />

successfully. Also all the Mahila Vibhags for their sincere<br />

support and co-operation and our MMET Management Team<br />

for providing us the MMET Auditorium for the conduct of<br />

our Mahila Convention 2017. We specially thank our advisor<br />

Adv. Vijaya Kumar for all the support and guidance. Let us<br />

now look forward to vibrant Mahila Vibhags and our next<br />

Convention 2018.<br />
