Auskick 2016 Our tiniest Bulldogs amazed us all this year! Their enthusiasm, energy and positive attitudes made for a lively and fun season for our coaches and managers. Our numbers increased and everyone learnt new skills. The highlights of the season included a couple of friendly “Auskick Nights” which we hosted under lights at John Dunn Oval. On these occasions, a couple of other clubs were invited to bring their Auskickers along to join in a lively demonstration of skills. The club BBQ trailer was fired up and “Buddy the Bulldog”, (club mascot,) was let out of the kennel to meet and greet everybody. A great sense of community prevailed, and we were proud of how many of our older players and local residents came out in force to watch and encourage the participation of every little Auskick dynamo in attendance … regardless of which club they belonged to. A huge vote of thanks must go to all of our 2016 Auskick coaches and managers: Sian and Paul Kemp, Stacey Brockway, Troy Clynk, James Linton, Anthony Pearce, Daniel and Rachel Green ….as well as our outgoing Auskick Coordinator Natasha Vann and her husband Peter Vann. Without these magnificent volunteers, the enthusiasm of our baby Bulldogs would not have been so evident.
Y3 Pups 2016 Our Y3 had the benefit of our highly-experienced coach Peter Vann, the team’s coach since their first season of Auskick. Now juggling two teams as coach, Peter has been consistently involved with coaching kids in our club right from the time his elder son (now Y7 in 2016) entered our Auskick program. Pete’s joviality and fairness makes him a great coach. Jumping in head first for the ride with Y3 was new manager Michelle Paterson. Despite being new to the role, Michelle managed admirably. Special mention must go to Sharon Millington and Natasha Vann for lending their managerial experience to guide Michelle. We also thank Assistant Coach Sam for his weekly efforts and Craig Millington for stepping in when needed.
