CL7- The environment of the school (physical, social, emotional, and

SIP Celebrations

CL7- Completed 15/16 School Year

• Initially implemented as a whole school climate initiative

• Highlands Heroes was developed to increase awareness of the

school’s core values amongst our learning community

• Established common, clear and consistent expectations, rules and

consequences in all school settings

• Staff was provided professional learning on growth mindset and

began implementing these practices in their classrooms to create

a culture of resiliency and goal setting

IIDO8- Revised and Continued at the start of the

15/16 School Year to Present

• Focused on PLC and professionally developing staff on

implementing effective structures for these

• Utilized Cindy Harrison twice to observe and reflect with staff on

next steps for PLCs

• Conducted S.W.O.T. Protocol with whole staff to strengthen PLC

discussions

• Imbedded professional development for our leadership team and

exposed staff to concepts of learning targets

IIDO9- Introduced 16/17 School Year as New SIP Goal

• Professional development and PLC work focuses on common

understanding of the philosophy of standards-based grading and

reporting

• Continued support of standards-based grading work and

collaboration amongst teams through a building-wide schedule

change, allowing for more common team collaboration blocks

• Staff will understand and communicate philosophy, purpose, and

outcomes of standards-based grading and reporting with all

stakeholders
