<strong>Tech</strong>nology readiness levels (TRLs) are the components of a measurement system invented by NASA<br />
in 1989 <strong>to</strong> assess the maturity level of a particular technology. There are nine technology readiness<br />
levels, TRL 1 being the lowest and TRL 9 the highest.<br />
