WELCOME
MR. MARTIN
Joining us on Campus Mr.
Martin Koch, the new Executive
Manager of Cape Town
Campus. Mr Martin started his
career in the Sport and Tourism
department at the Technicon
Witwatersrand ( now part of the
UJ) afterwhich he moved over to
managing higher education
campuses and brands. He
previously worked for Advtech
and Educor.
When we first met Mr. Koch,
the first question we could think
to ask him was, why? Why IHS?
’I enjoy working with students
and the commercial aspect of
running a campus. IHS has a
reputation of producing five star
quality students and I want to be
a part of living and growing the
campus.
Toursim is one of the priority
sectors idenified for growing
the country's economy - to
create more jobs. It is
fantastic sector to be part of,
especially in the Western
Cape and a company where I
can help young South
African's to achieve their
dreams.’ – Martin Koch
Mr. Koch, What is your life
Motto?
’I don't have one of those -I
think one change as you grow
and therefore should your
outlook on life. As a sport
enthusiast I do however apply
"Citius, Altius, Fortius" or
Faster, Higher , Stronger - the
Olympic Mottor in all aspects
of my life - religion, work,
sport and family.
Mr. Martin Koch, the new Executive Manager of
The International Hotel School Cape Town
Campus.
Pierre de Coubertin adopted
these words as the Olympic
Motto, from a collegue who
used sport dicipline as a
powerful educational tool.
We all deserve the "freedom
of excess" and this motto gives
all athletes and therefore
myself and everybody else the
freedom to dare and try to
break records. It is not about
winning it is about
participating and giving your
best.’ – Martin Koch
