MARKET WRAP UP<br />

The Sensex scaled a new all-time high of 30,167.09 on strong<br />

global cues, strengthening of rupee to 63.93, healthy corporate<br />

earnings and FII inflows into the market. Easing geopolitical<br />

tensions too pushed stocks higher.The 30-share BSE index<br />

Sensex hit its record high level surpassing its previous high of<br />

30,024 made in March 2015.<br />

Similarly, the 50-share NSE index Nifty, which hit 9,300 for the<br />

first time on Tuesday, rallied and hit its fresh all-time high of<br />

9,363.85.The 30-share BSE index Sensex was up 195.90 points<br />

or 0.65 per cent at 20,139.14 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty<br />

was up 45.65 points or 0.49 per cent at 9,352.25.<br />

Among BSE sectoral indices, FMCG index was the starperformer<br />

and was up 2.04 per cent, followed by auto 1.01 per<br />

cent, banking 0.82 per cent and metal 0.47 per cent. On the<br />

other hand, realty index fell the most by 2.95 per cent, IT 1.08<br />

per cent, oil & gas 1.02 per cent and infrastructure 0.92 per<br />

cent.<br />

Top five Sensex gainers were M&M (+3.63%), ITC (+3.33%),<br />

HDFC (+2.55%), HUL (+1.78%) and Cipla (+1.47%), while the<br />

major losers were Adani Ports (-2.31%), Infosys (-1.55%),<br />

Power Grid (-1.3%), Reliance (-1.22%) and Dr Reddy's (-1.16%).<br />

Asian stocks extended gains for a fifth consecutive day on<br />

Wednesday, as renewed optimism about the world's biggest<br />

economy brightened the outlook for risky assets while the euro<br />

held on to previous gains as political concerns in France ebbed.<br />

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose<br />

0.5 per cent, hovering near their highest since June 2015. Stock<br />

markets in Japan and Australia led the gainers.<br />
