Carson City!

If you never been to our state
capitol. . .for goodness sakes
plan a trip to explore the fascinating
town of Carson City. A group of Ms
Senior Nevada gals and friends,
journeyed north, and witnessed our
legislature in action.
You would have been proud of our
gals and their interfacing with our State
Senators and Assembly members who
are so busy with committee meetings, etc. It’s a miracle they ever get
anything accomplished, but they do.
Our trip to Carson City was four days by car or two by air, via Reno. We
filled every moment. The highlight is always the visit and photo op with
our Governor.
Add the tour of the Mansion, the Nevada State Historical Museum, the
Textile Museum (former first ladies’ gowns on display) Virginia City and,
of course, the many delicious eating places - including Schott’s Bakery
and the World Famous Sheepherder Bread in Bishop, California, it’s a
trip to remember.
Plan to join us next year. You be enchanted with the area and the fine
people you’ll meet.

Proposed Rules of Golf Changes

The USGA and the RNA meet every four
years to review and make changes to the
rules of golf. This time they have combined
their efforts to modernize the rules of golf and to make it easier to
understand and to speed up play.
Keep in mind these proposed rule changes will not go in effect until
January, 2019 and the committee may decide not to implement some of
them. For full details, go to: USGA.org/rules.
Some proposals include - on the green, spike marks may be repaired and
a ball that’s accidently kicked or moved during a practice stroke or while
marking the ball is simply put back. Putting while the flag is in the hole is
also allowed.
Accidently kicking or stepping on your ball in the rough causing it to
move, is once again, put back. Lastly, you will be allowed to identify your
ball in the rough, mark it, and put it back without notify any opposing
player. All of these rules with “No Penalty.”
