<str<strong>on</strong>g>search</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>result</str<strong>on</strong>g> rank<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g <strong>on</strong> <strong>YouTube</strong>?<br />

<strong>SeeZisLab</strong> Team still work hard <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> break the myths <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> the net c<strong>on</strong>cern<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g<br />

<strong>YouTube</strong> channel promoti<strong>on</strong>. This time, we will test out if it is true that <str<strong>on</strong>g>b<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>d<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g</str<strong>on</strong>g> of<br />

video channel <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> a popular page <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g> may help <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> improve <str<strong>on</strong>g>its</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>YouTube</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>search</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>result</str<strong>on</strong>g>s?

To carry out this experiment, we <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ok two new virtual mach<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>es,<br />

c<strong>on</strong>comitantly registered <strong>on</strong>e <strong>YouTube</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>account</str<strong>on</strong>g> for each of them, and two channels<br />

were c<strong>on</strong>comitantly created and 10 video files were loaded for each of these two<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>account</str<strong>on</strong>g>s. It is worth not<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g that the channels passed any possible registrati<strong>on</strong><br />

stages. Video files were uploaded by pairs, simultaneously <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> each of the channels.<br />

Videos loaded were similar as for their tim<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g, bitrate, resoluti<strong>on</strong>, title, descripti<strong>on</strong>,<br />

and tags.<br />

The difference between these pairs was as follows: <strong>on</strong>e of <strong>YouTube</strong> channels<br />

with <strong>on</strong>e video from each pair was bound <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> a <str<strong>on</strong>g>promoted</str<strong>on</strong>g> page <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g>, whereas<br />

the other <strong>on</strong>e didn’t.

After that, files’ rates were taken <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> Youtube <str<strong>on</strong>g>search</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>result</str<strong>on</strong>g>s. All videos were<br />

located <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>gether - <strong>on</strong>e after another, <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>separably. In order <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>struct graphs, we<br />

did as follows: those videos that had higher positi<strong>on</strong>s compared <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> their competi<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>r<br />

were given 1 po<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>t, the lower <strong>on</strong>es - 0 po<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>ts. Here is what we got immediately<br />

after file upload<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g.

We can see the difference between the two <str<strong>on</strong>g>account</str<strong>on</strong>g>s <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> per cent is significant and<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>account</str<strong>on</strong>g>s for 60%, <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> favor of the channel bound <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g>.<br />

It is important <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>sider that first 5 videos were located <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g> news feed<br />

from <strong>YouTube</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>account</str<strong>on</strong>g> bound <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> it. After that the rest of videos were not published <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g>. These posts had no <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>fluence <strong>on</strong> the experiment <str<strong>on</strong>g>result</str<strong>on</strong>g>s.<br />

The experiment was carried out for two weeks; the analysis was d<strong>on</strong>e <strong>on</strong> a daily<br />

basis. At the end of our study period, per cent values decreased from 60% <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> 10%.

In the picture below we can see distributi<strong>on</strong> of the channels tested. Rosullivan<br />

channel was bound <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>account</str<strong>on</strong>g>, whereas Coanders<strong>on</strong> did not, and they<br />

have different positi<strong>on</strong>s, respectively. The channel with <str<strong>on</strong>g>b<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>d<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g> is<br />

located higher <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>search</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>result</str<strong>on</strong>g>s.

Based <strong>on</strong> the data obta<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>ed <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> this experiment we can c<strong>on</strong>clude that <str<strong>on</strong>g>b<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>d<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g</str<strong>on</strong>g> of<br />

<strong>YouTube</strong> channel <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> a <str<strong>on</strong>g>promoted</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>account</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Twitter</str<strong>on</strong>g> has an <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>fluence <strong>on</strong> both, video<br />

rank<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g and <str<strong>on</strong>g>channel’</str<strong>on</strong>g>s positi<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>search</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>result</str<strong>on</strong>g>s.<br />

If you have any further questi<strong>on</strong>s, feel free <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> ask them <str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g> comments below<br />

<strong>SeeZisLab</strong> Team will be happy <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> answer them. And meanwhile we c<strong>on</strong>t<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>ue <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

work <strong>on</strong> break<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g or prov<str<strong>on</strong>g>in</str<strong>on</strong>g>g popular myths <strong>on</strong> <strong>YouTube</strong>.
