Sports Carpe Dìem • To 'seize the day' and/or capture a certain moment in time. • To put aside all differences, all fears, all worries, and just go for it. • To make the most out of that part of time. 'Capture the Moment' more often, or you will miss out on life and never truly be happy. St Margaret’s College sport offers a magnitude of opportunities at all year levels and for all abilities. We encourage all girls to ask why they play sport and to consider what they want from sport at SMC. Do they want to participate with their friends in a team environment? Do they want to pursue sport to the highest level? At the heart of it all, is learning. We encourage our girls to take ownership of their learning with a growth mindset. Effort is the key to success. We need to embrace our mistakes and confront our shortcomings. Athletes need to consider whether they are prepared to strive towards reaching their goals. They must make a conscious decision about how determined and dedicated they are, how hard they are willing to work and what help they need. They must decide what success means to them and remember that this is different for each individual. We encourage our students to: • Answer these questions for themselves.
