Lincoln by
the Sea
city beach is ready to return
Get your buckets & spades
ready – Lincoln by The Sea is
about to make a comeback!
After its runaway success over the past
three years, Lincoln’s beach will return
to City Square signalling lots of fun for
families during the Summer Holidays.
The Beach will be “ready to go” on
Monday, July 22 and will be open
everyday between 10am-4pm until
end of play on Saturday, August 31.
It offers families a great opportunity
to take a break from the shopping,
pull up a deckchair and let the
children play in Lincoln BIG’s super
9m x 12m sandpit.
Alongside the beach there will be
fairground rides to enjoy and, from
time to time, other entertainment
such as Punch and Judy shows and
children’s entertainers will be on site,
enhancing the seaside atmosphere.
(Lincoln’s Punch & Judy Festival is
on July 27).
If the sun is out, the beach area will
often open earlier than usual and
stay open a bit later, especially on
Thursdays, when it will support the
local shops which stay open until 7pm,
as part of Lincoln’s Alive after 5 on
Thursday offer.
Lincoln BIG Events and Promotions
Organiser Rachel Hanson said:
“People can pop along to the beach
for 10 minutes or make an entire
day of it in the city. Either way, it’s
totally free to use the beach and the
deckchairs.
“Buckets, spades, beach balls, sun
cream, lunch ideas and ice cream
are all available in the local shops or
the indoor market, so all your needs
should be catered for.”
