Fun and fund raising will be in the air at<br />
this year’s glittering Lincoln Drill Hall’s<br />
Bangers and Mash Ball on Sunday 26<br />
August – and all in aid of the venue’s<br />
essential outreach work with young<br />
people and children and adults with<br />
disabilities in the city.<br />
In this Jubilee year, a celebration of British<br />
culture is at the heart of the Ball, from the<br />
Beatles to Take That, Terry Thomas to Dame<br />
Judy Dench and Union Jack boxers to Bangers<br />
and Mash!The packed evening is tailor made<br />
for those who love to party and features: live<br />
music from Benny Lee and the Whistle Stop 5<br />
who transport us back to the jive era; a DJ set<br />
featuring great British hits from across the<br />
decades; a delicious three course meal by<br />
Black Peppermint Food Company that includes,<br />
of course, gourmet Bangers and Mash, wine by<br />
city connoisseurs Steep Hill Wines, an auction,<br />
raffle and, as always, one or two very<br />
special surprises.<br />
It’s a ball like no other and a great way to<br />
round off the summer. Plus, as it takes place<br />
on the Sunday evening of the Bank Holiday<br />
weekend, there’s plenty of time to sleep<br />
it off the next day!<br />
