Principal Mr. Mulindwa Sammy Mukasa.
Dear parents, Guardians and Stakeholders,
It is indeed a great honor and with profound gratitude
School News Letter concerning what has transpired in
term 1 201.Congratulations to the Christian fraternity
celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
TODAY Friday 28th April, 2017, Term I has come to an
end. We are grateful to the Almighty God for the far He has
brought us with blessings, gift of life, resources, wisdom,
knowledge and understanding as we offer ourselves to
the education service.
THANKS:
To all of you parents/guardians for the provision of
school fees and other school requirements. Great thanks
to those who have fulfilled their obligations promptly
amidst financial challenges. I would like to urge those
who have not done well in this area to strive improve
benefit of the child.
invaluable in-puts in an effort to create a conducive
environment for the proper nurturing of learners.
thinking and focus towards investment in this institution.
We are overwhelmed by your commitment, resilience
and sacrifice for the school.
enabling the school accomplish the registration exercise
as now a fully registered St. Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High
School. Special thanks to the Permanent Secretary.
To the several service providers who have been very
patient with us and have offered services no matter the
situation.
STAFFING
This year, we beefed up the staff when we recruited
highly qualified, self motivated and result oriented
personnel. These included among others, The Librarian,
the Chief Cook, the Secretary and Teachers especially in
the science Department. These are doing a good job to
ensure there is sanity in the family.
DISCIPLINE
On the whole, our children are well behaved; they are
free and open, care; love teamwork and respect elders.
However, there is need to sensitize them more about self
management and independence. Some still want to be
pampered, want to see and call parents all the time. We
are doing our best to make them grow while we expect
you to do the same as you interact during holidays.
Discipline is done through the counseling strategy, the
staff and the empowered student leadership.
WELFARE:
This is a key priority area of concern. The feeding
put into consideration, a balanced diet, meals served in
adequate quantities in the prescribed time. We provide
safe water for drinking. We hold physical exercises
and aerobics to keep them healthy and fit coupled
with various sports and games. This is followed by
well organized spiritual welfare catering for every
acceptable recognized faith “they are really at home”.
PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL PROGRAMS:
Our Brass Band combined with Gombe Junior
School participated in the 62nd Kabaka’s Birth day
celebrations at Buloba as the lead.
The band also participated in the Kampala Capital
City Authority Private Schools/Institutions swearing
in of the new executive at Eagles Nest S.S where the
chief Guest was the Minister for Kampala Hon. Betty
Kamya. The Principal is on the executive as In-charge
of Research.
The Band also played during the East African
Corporate League at Lugogo. They officiated during
the opening and closing and the Chief Guest was the
Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of
Uganda, Rebecca Kadaga.
The MUSIC DANCE & DRAMA GROUP participated in
the Buganda Royal Shield Festival 2017 and emerged
the 3rd among Secondary Schools. This was the first
time to participate therefore this was a spectacular
performance.
ADMISSIONS:
We are blessed to have admitted many students in S1
and S5 this year. These have already settled in school
and are very active. The parents who brought them
made the wisest choice because their children are going
to benefit from our 21st Century education standards
that we provide. However, there are still a few vacancies
in these classes. We have also had many students who
have crossed over from the “big” boarding schools to St.
Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High School. Great is thy name.
VISITATION DAY
Thank you parents/Guardians for turning up on
visitation day. The big turn up is a clear manifestation
of your commitment and responsibility towards your
child’s education and welfare. We also thank you for
supporting our business enterprise as you bought
many items on that day. The club has continued to
produce many items that we have put on market as we
impact practical and business skills in our learners.
However, note that we shall continue to be very strict on
