Series KING ARTHUR:

Series KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD IS THIS SUMMER'S FIRST BOX OFFICE BOMB King Arthur: Legend of the Sword bombed in its opening weekend, placing third at the domestic box office with an estimated $14.7 million. As noted by Variety, director Guy Ritchie's fantasy drama, starring Charlie Hunnam, is this summer's first box office flop and has a long way to go before recouping its hefty production budget of $175 million. Read IGN's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword review, or watch the video below, to find out why the film's "incessant desire to be clever and funny, go too far and become off-putting." Leading the box office for its second consecutive week is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which earned an estimated $63 million. With a $145 million debut last weekend, the domestic total for director James Gunn's sci-fi sequel is nearing $250 million. Just ahead of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword in second place is Snatched. Fox's R-rated comedy, starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, debuted to an estimated $17.5 million. Meanwhile, Lowriders, the Ricardo de Montreuildirected drama about a teenage graffiti artist, played by Gabriel Chavarria, had a limited release this weekend, placing eighth with $2.4 million. Rounding out this weekend's top five are The Fate of the Furious and The Boss Baby, which earned an estimated $5.3 million and $4.6 million, respectively. 34 BLACK LIGHTNING NOT PART OF ARROWVERSE, WON'T BE PART OF CW'S NEXT DC CROSSOVER Greg Berlanti's crossover with all four of the upcoming DC shows that are on in the fall." series Black It's worth noting that all of Lightning is The CW's Arrowverse shows not set within film in Vancouver, while the The CW's Arrowverse. production on Black Lightning As reported by Entertainment takes place in Atlanta. Movies NEW STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI PLOT DETAILS REVEALED A Japanese promo leaflet for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has seemingly revealed a little more about the upcoming sequel's plot. What follows could be considered light spoilers for those looking to know know nothing about The Last Jedi. Be warned! Spotted by StarWars- NewsNet, the leaflet headline (as translated by SWNN user Niamor and independently verified by an IGN translator) reads: "The Most Shocking Truth in Star Wars History Will Soon be Revealed!" Perhaps Luke will have turned to the Dark Side after all? Or is this Lord Snoke's identity? Or will we find out that Chewie was behind everything? Primarily, the rest of the article sums up the events of The Force Awakens, but one line appears to confirm what the rest of the last film's lead cast will be up to while Rey spends time with Luke Skywalker: "Kylo Ren's mother, the leader of the Resistance, Leia, Poe, Finn, and BB-8, will embark on a new mission!" Perhaps they'll be chasing Kylo back to Snoke's home planet, or simply shoring up the Resistance for the final fight in Episode IX. The leaflet also promises a "climax scene full of mystery" - a point that may (again) evoke comparisons to The Empire Strikes Back's more open-ended storyline. We've learned a few little details from unusual sources recently - a Hot Wheels toy showed us Kylo Ren's new ship, and a Battlefront 2 preorder bonus revealed Kylo and Rey's new costumes. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will arrive in theaters on December 15. Kzn Lifestyle Magazine • Issue 27 35
