NX-OS does not have the capability to do “wide-open” or “uncontrolled”<br />

redistribution. NX-OS enforces the use of a route-map to define routes that should be<br />

redistributed.<br />

Modifying BGP Routing Metrics<br />

BGP administrators frequently require flexibility in the manipulation of the multitude of<br />

BGP metrics that can influence routing policy. NX-OS supports administration of metrics<br />

such as AS-Path, weight, local preference, <strong>and</strong> more. These metrics can be applied in a<br />

granular nature using prefix lists to define the wanted metric.<br />

Example 3-97 shows the weight <strong>and</strong> local preference set to nondefault values.<br />
