COSTA RICAN CULTURE
The culture of Costa Rica is a vibrant
mix of Spanish colonial influence and
indigenous heritage with many
immigrant cultures lending their
unique customs and character. The
official language is Spanish, but large
numbers of the Costa Rican
population is fluent in English as well.
Costa Ricans or "Ticos," are warm
hearted, friendly, fun-loving and laid
back. Ticos make it a point to enjoy
life to the fullest. They spend most of
their time with family and friends, but
will always have a smile on their face
when speaking to strangers as well.
