signed the <strong>Student</strong> Privacy Pledge. The Pledge is in place <strong>to</strong> safeguard the privacy, collection, maintenance,<br />
and use of student personal data. By becoming a signa<strong>to</strong>ry, <strong>YellowFolder</strong> commits <strong>to</strong> comply with the<br />
existing federal law and regula<strong>to</strong>ry guidance regarding the collection and handling of student data.<br />

The pledge was developed by The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) and the Software & Information Industry<br />
Association (SIIA) with guidance from school service providers, educa<strong>to</strong>r organizations, and other<br />
stakeholders. The Pledge has also been endorsed by the National PTA and the National School Boards<br />
Association.<br />
The pledge makes clear school service providers are accountable <strong>to</strong>:<br />
• Not sell student information<br />
• Use data for authorized education purposes only<br />
• Not change privacy policies without notice and choice<br />
• Enforce strict limits on data retention<br />
• Provide comprehensive security standards<br />
• Be transparent about collection and use of data<br />
