CLYMB
Situated between Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and
Yas Mall, CLYMB will include the world’s widest
flight chamber measured at 9.75 meters in
diameter and tallest indoor climbing wall at
43 metres high.
The climbing walls offer a challenge to
beginner, intermediate and expert climbers as
they will have the chance to scale 4 walls of
varying difficulty. The tallest expert-level wall
will tower 43 meters above the ground.
Alongside the flight chamber and climbing wall,
CLYMB will include retailers, food and beverage
outlets, and a space to host parties. Set to
open in 2018, CLYMB will also be linked to the
nearby Yas Mall, connecting the attraction with
even more of Yas Island’s entertainment and
leisure offerings.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi
Set to open in 2018, Warner Bros. World
Abu Dhabi will offer 29 immersive rides,
entertaining shows and interactive attractions.
The fully-immersive world-class park will
also include retail outlets featuring a wide
collection of merchandise inspired by Warner
Bros. franchises as well as a full range of
dining options from full-service sit down to
grab and go. The park will bring together
Super Heroes and Super-Villains from the DC

Getting to Abu Dhabi
First impressions: Yas Island is a 25 km²
man-made island off Abu Dhabi, the capital
of the United Arab Emirates. Development
began in 2006, with the aim of making the
island a multi-purpose leisure, shopping, and
entertainment centre. Only three years later,
it was named the world’s leading tourism
project at the 2009 World Travel Awards.

Getting to Yas Island
Visitors can get onto and around Yas Island by
land, sea, or air!
Yas by car: Looking to get behind the wheel?
Cars in the UAE are left-hand drive and travel
on the right-hand side of the road. It’s easy to
rent a car in the UAE, and most international
licenses are accept. Drivers are also available
from most agencies on a day rate.
Yas by taxi: There is no shortage of licensed
taxis in the UAE, all of which are airconditioned.
All vehicles are metered and
rates are competitive. A typical journey from
Abu Dhabi International City Centre to Yas
Island, for instance, will cost approximately
USD20.

Yas by boat: Offering daily sightseeing
cruises for tourists, visitors and residents of
Abu Dhabi, Jalboot’s fleet of luxury ferries
offers the finest panoramic views in modern,
air conditioned boats with business class
quality seats. With a range of ticket types and
packages including an All Day Pass, Evening
Cruise and even private charters, this is the
best way to see the key landmarks of the city.
Tickets can be purchased online at the Jalboot
website, via a 24 hour call centre, or in person
at the Abu Dhabi Mall Showboat sales kiosk.
Yas by air: There is a six-pad heliport at Yas
Marina Circuit for those arriving who choose
this unconventional mode of transporation,
and the Seawings seaplane service has regular
flights between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, also
landing at Yas Marina.

CLIMATE
The UAE has year-round sunshine.
During the winter and spring, temperatures
average 23°C/73°F. Summers can reach
highs of 45°C/104°F with humidity.
TIME
The UAE uses Gulf Standard Time (GST),
which is four hours ahead of Greenwich
Mean Time (GMT+4)
CURRENCY
The currency in the United Arab Emirates is
the Dirham, abbreviated to AED. Currency
exchanges can be found in most malls, hotels
and banks. The currency is pegged to the US
dollar at an exchange rate of AED3.65 to 3.68.
LANGUAGE
Although Arabic is the official language, the
UAE is incredibly multi-cultural and English is
widely spoken in all settings.
TRAVEL AND VISAS
The UAE offers visas on arrival for over 40
nationalities, however it’s always a good idea
to speak to your local embassy to check you’re
included.
DRINKING WATER
Tap water is considered safe to drink,
though there is a culture of drinking bottled
and filtered water.

Drink in the view from Abu Dhabi’s tallest
building
–
The observation deck on the 74th floor of
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, offers spectacular
skyline views over the city-centre and Abu
Dhabi Corniche from the highest point in the
city. There is an entry fee for non-guests of the
hotel, but the ticket price can be redeemed for
food and drink from the observation deck’s
restaurant.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Clad in Macedonian marble, the beautiful and
absolutely mammoth Sheikh Zayed Grand
Mosque is Abu Dhabi’s landmark building
and by far the most popular sightseeing
attraction in the city. Blending Mameluke,
Ottoman, and Fatimid design elements, this
thoroughly modern mosque celebrates Islamic
architecture. Able to hold 40,000 worshippers,
it is the biggest mosque in the United Arab
Emirates. Non-Muslims are allowed into all
areas of the mosque(including the vast library),
and guided tours are available.

Visit the vibrant Liwa Oasis on the edge of the
Empty Quarter
–
When the local community want to escape
the city, they go to Liwa. Located in the west
of the emirate, beautiful Liwa is noted for its
date-farming, and the views of the spectacular
adjoining desert. Liwa is close to one of the
largest sand dunes in the world, making it a
must-visit attraction for anyone wanting to ride
dune buggies, try sand surfing, or go camel
trekking.
