BRIDAL FEATURE
My Bridal Feature is Bianca Webb, who
married the love of her life Brayden.
When Bianca walked into my boutique
& saw my Miss USA dress she knew it
was the dress for her.
I asked Bianca a few questions in the
hope that Bianca’s answers can help
another bride on their Wedding Dress
Journey.
Q How did you approach finding
your perfect Wedding dress? Did
you do a lot of Research & use
sites such as pinterest?
A: I spent a few weeks googling
what styles of dresses I liked and
what were the best dress
boutiques to visit. I used
Instagram, Facebook and
Pinterest to find ideas.

Q. How soon after your engagement did you start
trying on wedding dresses?
A: It was about 4 months after the engagement.
Q. How many bridal shops did you go too & How
many dresses did you try on before finding The
One?
A: I went to the formal shop near to JK and tried
on about 4 dresses. I then walked into JK and the
second dress I saw was the one that I fell in love
with.
Q. Was your wedding dress the style that you
always thought you would wear or was it totally
different?
A: My dress was somewhat different to what I
was expecting but it had the stunning lace I
always dreamt of having. My dress is one of a
kind and absolutely flawless.
Q. How did you find the experience of going into
bridal shops to find the perfect dress?
A: Joanne is by far the most helpful and caring
boutique shop owner I've ever come across.
She has such an amazing eye for fashion.
Joanne was very supportive and hand made my
dress from scratch in 4 months. (my wedding
was in 6)

Q. What made you decide that your wedding dress was the Perfect
One for you.
A: I feel that Joanne made me see
that the dress was very much suited
to my personality. I thought I wanted
something very traditional but when I
saw the one, it was far from it. The
dress is so stunning and one of a
kind. I felt like the princess I always
wanted to be, getting married.
Tell us about your Beautiful Wedding Day.
My wedding day was very non traditional, romantic and very personal. My
hubby and I got married on the gondolas in the Venetian Las Vegas.
Our bridal party consisted of just the two of us. It was the most magical and
memorable day of my life.
Once we were married overseas, we then came home and celebrated with
our family and friends. I decided to go back to Joanne and get my dress cut
into a cocktail dress for my summer function (My wedding was in winter
season in America). Whilst wearing the dress I received multiple
comments on how stunning my dress was and how it suited me as a
person. Joanne helped me feel truly beautiful on my special day and I
couldn't thank her enough. I am proud to tell everyone where I found my
dress.
Joanne also kept the off cuts of my dress for my Grandmother to make a
little christening outfit out of them when the time comes.

Q. If you could have the day over
again, would there be anything
you would change?
A: Absolutely not. I am very
happy with the way we went in
getting married. I shared the day
with the person I most care for.
Q. What advice would you give to brides as
they start their journey on finding the Perfect
Wedding Dress?
A: I would suggest to keep an open mind as
to what you try on and look at because you
never know what you might come across.
Doing research helped me find what
suburbs had the best shops to look in. After
all that's how I stumbled across this little
gem of a store, JK Couture Designs

FASHION TIP
How many of you keep your
garments in the plastic bags
from the drycleaners? come
on be honest a lot of you do,
I’m sure. Well did you know
that it can be bad for your
clothes, especially here in qld
with how hot and humid our
weather gets.
When you get your clothes home from the
drycleaners you should take them out of the
plastic for 2 reasons, firstly to check that all of
your garments are there, drycleaners are human
and make mistakes just like the rest of us and
sometimes may leave a garment out or something
like a belt that goes with a jacket by accident, I
have seen many ties go missing this way & if you
leave your clothes in the plastic, it could be
months before you realise something is missing &
by then it could be too late.
The second reason is your clothes can sweat in
the bag causing your fabrics to smell or even get
mould on them, before you even get a chance to
wear them again.
Evening Dress’s or suits should be kept in a
garment bag (not a plastic one either) Good
quality garment bags let the fabrics breath to keep
them in great condition.

FORMAL FEATURE
I was very delighted when Gabi
asked me to make her formal
Dress. After all Gabi looks so
good in every one of my
designs and has been in
enough of them now, that it was
about time she had one for
herself.
Gabi’s dress was going to be couture &
this meant that I started by creating a
pattern to Gabi’s measurements. The next
stage is creating a toile which is a calico
replica to get the fitting issues out of the
way, plus it gave Gabi a chance to see the
dress on and make any design changes,
such as lowering the back of the dress.

When it came to choosing fabrics, Gabi
gave me a bit of a challenge. Toby,
Gabi’s boyfriend already had his suit
and tie. The tie had a couple of
different blues in it and Gabi asked me
to find a blue that matched in
with the tie (doesn’t sound difficult does
it) The challenge was that the blue had
a purple hue background to it which is
harder to find a match too, but It
came up beautifully & I found some
perfect matching coloured diamontes
for around the waist.

Behind the scenes from the
Ideal bride Expo
Cleveland
The first ever Ideal
Bride Expo at
Cleveland was
fantastic, it was a
really lovely boutique
expo.
Because it was a
smaller expo than the
normal bigger ones it
meant that all the
brides could speak to
all the vendors that
were there without
feeling as if they had
to rush to the next
vendor and it was
such a great
atmosphere.
The stage was
styled
beautifully by
White Lace
and Promises
