Building

Project Prayer

Loving God,

Creator of all that is good,

With grateful hearts we turn to you.

Bless us with a sense of unity,

a spirit of cooperation and a generous heart

as we face the responsibilities and challenges

of this parish building process.

Help us to remember that our parish

is more than a building made of wood and stone.

It is a community, rooted in your gifts of

faith, hope and love—a community that we

build for ourselves and future generations.

Bless us as we strive to do your will,

guide us as we make decisions and

share with us your everlasting peace.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen

St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us.

Dear Friends in Christ,

We, the Parish Community of St. Vincent de

Paul, are filled with great excitement in anticipation

for the opening of our new sanctuary

on December 29, 2012. The church

in itself will be a house dedicated to the

praise and glory of God. Within the church,

there will be various types of liturgical art

and furnishings that I believe will enhance

our worship and contemplation of the one

true God.

As you can imagine, it has taken a great amount of work, time and sacrifice

from many people to get us to this moment in time. Now that our

building is nearing its completion, we are pleased to share with you the

various liturgical art and furnishings that we hope to place in our new

building. As to be expected, many of the items described in this brochure

may not be in the church building on the day of dedication because

the cost of these items are above and beyond the cost to build our new

church sanctuary.

Much work has gone into studying and researching the opportunities for

stained glass windows, mosaics, statues, Stations of the Cross and various

kinds of liturgical furnishing. The liturgical artists that we have selected

to create the art and furnishings are well known and respected in the

Catholic Church. Their previous commissions have inspired us, and we

are excited about the art they will create for us.

It is my hope that you will take the time to review and reflect upon the

various memorial opportunities that can be found in this brochure. All

of these pieces of liturgical art and furnishings will be used to enhance,

strengthen and deepen our communion with the God who loves us. May

God bless you and your family for all that you do for the Church and our

Lord Jesus Christ.

In Christ,

Fr. Danny Garcia

Artists & Vendors

conrad schmitt studios | exterior liturgical art glass windows

Conrad Schmitt's experience was very apparent in the many beautiful examples of work done in the United States over the past

century. Their openness and collaboration in designing our windows has been a wonderful experience; as details and colors are

finalized in the fabrication process, we look forward to a continued collaborative relationship.

mellini art glass & mosaics | mosaic alcoves

Mellini is an internationally renowned mosaic vendor with installations around the globe, including many cathedrals. Chosen for

their exquisitely detailed work in thousands of colors and shades of mosaic glass, Mellini’s artists are working hand-in-hand with

us to create spiritually moving and beautiful representations of the evangelists and saints.

dam de nogales | stations of the cross

The international, artistic (and married) team of Edwin Dam and Veronica de Nogales has created a set of amazing, high-relief,

bronze Stations of the Cross. They will be mounted to stone-clad columns in our ambulatory—encouraging parishioners to walk

the Way of the Cross. The artists will only create a total of 7 sets of these Stations worldwide—no other in Texas—guaranteeing

that we will have beautiful, unique artwork as a legacy to our children and grandchildren.

inspired artisans | crucifix, altar pieces, tabernacle

Inspired Artisans, a studio in Wisconsin, has an international roster of artists. Our custom designed corpus is the work of an Italian

wood-carver, carefully created and hand-carved especially for us. Our altar pieces are being cut from Brazilian and Jerusalem

stones. And, our tabernacle is being etched with designs created in collaboration with the Peruvian owner and founder of Inspired

Artisans.

steve pickens | presiders’ chairs

J. Stephan Pickens is our original wood craftsman that designed and created our current altar furnishings. We are delighted to

invite him back to our parish to design chairs and other pieces for our new worship space.

new holland, the bethany group | pews

New Holland Pews are the radial pew manufacturers—beautiful, curved wooden pews to welcome families to worship together.

The Bethany Group sets a very high standard of quality and collaboration to help create a serene, spiritual worship space.

our thanks to each of these artisans for making

our worship space one centered on Christ.

memorial / honorary | thank you!

Because we recognize and appreciate what a deeply

personal matter sponsoring an item for our new

church can be, St. Vincent de Paul established the

following guidelines when considering a memorial

or honorary opportunity.

These guidelines apply to individual gifts, as well

as group gifts—such as organizations, ministries

or multiple families sharing sponsorship of a single

item.

> For items valued under $20,000, please

make your donation as a one-time gift.

> For items valued at $20,000 and above, if a

one-time gift is not feasible, then installments

over a two-year period can be arranged. These

items will be reserved for that time frame and

will be fabricated when sponsorship payments

are complete.
