“ad-daalleen” (those astray) are the Christians. 74 On one occasion he recited the<br />
verse:<br />

;o§qè% `ÏiB OçF÷èsÜtGó$# $¨B Nßgs9 (#r‘‰Ïãr&ur )<br />
“Prepare for them wh<strong>at</strong>ever force you are able to.” 75<br />
He then said,<br />
) أَلا َ إِن ال ْق ُوة َ الرمي أَلا َ إِن ال ْق ُوة َ الرمي أَلا َ إِن ال ْق ُوة َ الرمي .)<br />
“ Verily force is shooting.” He repe<strong>at</strong>ed it three times. 76<br />
In another narr<strong>at</strong>ion, he explained th<strong>at</strong> the verse:<br />

»oYø‹sÜôãr& !$¯RÎ) )<br />
“Verily, I have given you al-Kawthar,” 77<br />
referred to a river in Paradise which Allaah has given him. 78<br />
Because the Sunnah was based on guidance from Allaah, it represents the<br />
second part of God’s promise to explain the Qur’aan:<br />
( ÇÊÒÈ ¼çmtR$uŠt/ $uZøŠn=tã ¨bÎ) §NèO )<br />
“Then, verily, it is for Me to explain it.” 79<br />
