Therefore, parents should always use good language and speak of
good things in front of the child. They should particularly divert their
attention to Isl\mic things, for All\h I says: "With Him are the keys of
the Unseen, the treasures that none know of but He. He knows
whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but with
His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor
anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a Record
clear." (6:59). If Isl\mic beliefs, like these are spoken of day and night
and at all suitable occasions in front of the child, these Isl\mic
teachings will be inscribed upon that pure mind so firmly that they will
not be erasable from it, even when the child reaches old age.
What we can clearly deduce from the above is that this stage should
never be under-rated. Schools like to drill into young minds all sorts of
general knowledge, they have grasped the concept of the absorbing
nature of an infant mind. It would be sheer stupidity and a blatant
neglect of our duty towards the child, in not creating a proper Isl\mic
environment.
Every child has the right of Isl\mic education and being taught good
manners upon their parents. This in turn will ensure that they lead a
proper Isl\mic life and be saved from hardships in this world, and more
importantly, they will be safe from the hardships of the Hereafter.
The Qur'\n says:
"O you who believe, save yourself and your family from a fire,
the fuel of which is men and stones." S[rah at-Ta#r|m
Saving your family from All\h’s punishment means to give them good
education and good manners. Therefore to make one’s children's lives
successful according to the standards set by Isl\m, parents must train
and educate them. Parents should carry out this duty with wisdom,
