MPUE President’s Message —<br />
The MPUE Board <strong>and</strong> Staff wishes you <strong>and</strong> your family a glorious <strong>Easter</strong>!<br />
Spring is almost here <strong>and</strong> what a wonderful time it will be. It seems that everyone is looking forward to warm weather<br />
<strong>and</strong> spring activities. Our newsletter is full of upcoming spring events <strong>and</strong> activities for our children <strong>and</strong> parents from<br />
within our program as well as in the community. We are so fortunate to have so much being organized for us <strong>and</strong> our<br />
children.<br />
Included in this edition is information on <strong>Easter</strong> <strong>and</strong> some of the <strong>Easter</strong> rituals. I always find it interesting to learn about<br />
how people observed different celebrations in days gone by <strong>and</strong> how many people maintain certain traditions <strong>and</strong> how<br />
some traditions have changed. We hope you enjoy the <strong>Easter</strong> articles. You can always let us know of other things we<br />
can share with our readers.<br />
As you may have noticed, we will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the program. If you know of program alumni,<br />
educators <strong>and</strong> students, please have them contact us. We would love to find out where they are, what they are doing<br />
<strong>and</strong> invite them to partake in next year’s celebrations.<br />
I want to thank Krystyna <strong>and</strong> Nataliya for all their hard work in pulling all the information together <strong>and</strong> including<br />
<strong>Ukrainian</strong> articles <strong>and</strong> providing translation. They do a great job to ensure this is an interesting publication.<br />
Finally, please note all the dates of the various fieldtrips <strong>and</strong> camps which your children may be participating in. If you<br />
have an opportunity to attend any of the day fieldtrips or Grade 6 Camp with your child(ren), please do so. They are all<br />
very interesting <strong>and</strong> fun experiences for both the children <strong>and</strong> yourself.<br />
Have a wonderful spring break <strong>and</strong> <strong>Easter</strong> season.<br />

Grade 4 Multicultural Trip<br />
This year’s Grade 4 Multicultural Trip will take place on Friday May 22. The students,<br />
teachers <strong>and</strong> chaperones will start off the day with a visit to The Caboto Centre - Italian<br />
Cultural Centre ( http://www.cabotocentre.com) for a presentation <strong>and</strong> “tour” of Italy.<br />
After the Caboto Centre, everyone will head to the Leo Mol Sculpture Gardens for a<br />
presentation <strong>and</strong> tour of this famous <strong>Ukrainian</strong>’s beautiful artwork.<br />
