Mouth-watering English Cherries – luscious and local!
Make sure you pay a visit to the
English Cherry Co at Aspley Guise
this summer. For 3-4 weeks between
July and August you can savour the
deliciously mouth-watering flavours of
8 varieties of cherry.
At the farm shop you can learn
about the growth and harvest of this
marvellous fruit, perhaps even swap
recipes with other customers. This
season is likely to start from around 10
July and the shop opens daily during
this period from 9am-6pm. If you can’t
make it to the shop, keep an eye open
at local outlets and in the lay-bys for
places to stop and buy.
Three generations of the family
manage the 2,000 cherry trees, from
tending to them to marketing and
selling the product at the end. For the
most up-to-date information follow
twitter@englishcherry or sign up to
their seasonal reminder service.
The size, quality and taste of the fruit
