Dinosaur
Giants
An Exhibit from the
Sereno Fossil Lab
Main Library
Through September 24
Did you like the dinosaurs you saw in the movie Jurassic World? Visit the Library to
see the two-story-tall giant Jobaria—you will have to go to the 1st and 2nd floor
to see all of him. You will find a flying pterosaur with a 16-foot wingspan and a
fierce Suchomimus, who looked like a crocodile with enormous claws. The exhibit
will feature:
• Fossils
• Real dinosaur bones you can touch
• Expedition images
The bones of the Dinosaur Giants were discovered in Africa by world-famous
University of Chicago paleontologist Dr. Paul Sereno. Para una descripción en

Dinosaur Giants Exhibit
If you have not yet stopped in to see the Dinosaur Giants exhibit,
please do. Watch the amazed faces of young and old as they stand
by Jobaria’s 33-foot-tall skeleton or walk in to the fossil-filled cave.
The library has welcomed visitors from all over Illinois and 4 different
states. We are thankful to the many people who have volunteered to
be docents, as there have been nearly 500 people who have already
taken tours during the exhibit’s first month.
The library is able to bring these world-class exhibits to this
community due to supporters. We thank the Gail Borden Public
Library Foundation, Elgin State Bank, EFS Foundation, SEIGLE Family
Foundation, Palmer Foundation and KCT Credit Union for making
Dinosaur Giants a reality. We also thank all the people who make
Gail's Sales a success – the volunteers, the people who donate
and the people who purchase books. Those funds are essential to
enhancing what the library can bring to the community.
