9 years ago, we took the plunge and moved from a very busy London suburb to Monmouthshire.
At the time, my eldest daughter was just starting school and my partner had just finished a
big work project and wanted to move on.
We had always dreamt of living in the
countryside but living in the outskirts of
London, country homes in Guildford,
Chobham, Sunningdale and Bath were all out of our
price range – a country pile was 2 million plus and
these were the small houses we just couldn’t afford
anything.
We started house hunting in Wales as I’m originally
from Cardiff. We needed somewhere close to good road
and rail links for my husband’s work commitments.
Cardiff was too far from the M4 and M5, so we started
looking closer to Bristol and Monmouthshire.
Looking in Monmouthshire area we found
properties in our price range and not just one but
many, we could afford to move out of London and buy
a house that was located in the Wye Valley and ticked
the boxes for good road links, close to Bristol airport,
excellent schools and historic market towns.
Monmouthshire is a dream come true for families
looking to buy a rural home. With its easy access to the
M4, M5, Bristol airport, high achieving schools and the
thriving towns of Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye, Chepstow
and Usk. Rural house prices are significantly cheaper
than its counterparts in south and east England.
We finally ended up living at the edge of Monmouth
town, we had looked at some remote houses with land
but bringing along a teenage boy who’d lived most
of his life in London we thought living somewhere
remote would have been a step too far for him. Thanks
goodness we made the right decision, an unhappy year
in University we found that teenage son back living
with us in Monmouth, he spent a very happy few years
here and is now living in central Manchester but calls
Monmouth his home. I suspect one day he will be back
with his own family.
Our family have really settled here and we’ve never
looked back. Coming home after a family holiday late at
night through Tintern, I sometimes pinch myself, do I
live here, is this beautiful landscape my home?
Country Shows
The first known agricultural show was held by
Salford Agricultural Society, Lancashire, in 1768.
Agricultural shows have always been an important
part of cultural life in small country towns, and a
popular event in larger towns. Shows range from small
events in small country towns usually lasting two days,
through to medium-sized events of three days.
Chepstow
michaelskidmore.com
The second show on the calendar is Chepstow
Show, also an annual celebration of the best of the local
community - rural trades, talents and tastes.
The Show is open to all. Whether you are looking to
enter one of the many classes, to showcase your goods
and services or just to enjoy a wonderful family day
out. The Show will be held on Saturday 12th August at
Chepstow Racecourse.
Usk
Finally, on the second Saturday in September, every
year since 1844, Usk Farmers’ Club have held the Usk
Show.
At the 100 acre Usk Showground near the village of
Gwernesney, the Show comprises 11 different Sections
each holding their own competitions on the day. Usk
Farmers Club Members bring their Cattle, Sheep and
Pigs to compete in the Agricultural Livestock Section.
There is a thriving Horse Show and Show Jumping
Competitions, as well as Goats, Poultry, Rabbits,
Horticulture, Home crafts, a Companion Dog Show,
Steam Corner and Vintage Tractors.
Living in Monmouthshire we are lucky enough to
have a plethora of shows. The month of July marks
the beginning of the Show season, starting with
Monmouthshire Show.
The Monmouthshire show is the largest one-day
agricultural show in Wales, taking place for the first time
this year on the 1st July, traditionally the show was held
annually in Monmouth on the last Thursday in August.
10 ADVICE
Planning Permission
by Lisa Dobbs of Dobbs & Drew
1. When you need it
You’ll probably need planning permission if you want to:
• build something new
• make a major change to your building like building an extension
• change the use of your building
If your project needs planning permission and you do the work without it you can be
served an ‘enforcement notice’ ordering you to undo all the changes you have made.
2. When you don’t need it
Some building projects don’t need planning permission. This is known as ‘permitted
development rights’.
The following building projects fall within permitted development rights but this is
just a rough guide and you should check with your Local Authority as to their specific
guidelines:-
• Garages built in garden or land surrounding house (Planning Permission may be
required if house is listed building)
• Small fuel tanks (liquid petroleum, gas and oil tanks) however Planning
Permission may be required in certain circumstances
• Build or replace driveway (if you use a porous surface, permeable concrete block
paving or porous asphalt and rainwater flows to lawn/border naturally)
• Porch (unless bigger than 3m square or higher than 3m above ground level)
• Fitting, altering or replacing a flue, soil and vent pipe (certain rules and
conditions must be met)
• Decking (no more than 30cm above the ground and cover no more than 50% of
garden area)
• Security alarm, cctv and solar panels (check regarding listed buildings)
• Sheds
There are other projects that might not need planning permission, eg projects that will
have no impact on your neighbours or the environment. If you think this could apply
you should check with your Local Planning Authority.
This lovely property, which is set in five acres of grounds, is located in a rural but not
isolated position at Phocle Green within easy reach of Ross-on-Wye and the M50.
Gayton Farm stands within some 4 acres, peaceful, yet
easily accessible in a small valley, and approached over a
long private avenue of superb mature Lime trees. This is
a home of character with a wealth of old oak beams and
exposed stone, yet it offers every modern convenience.
There is a large garage/workshop block with a self
contained flat over. There are pretty formal gardens,
about 2 acres of lovely parkland with several mature trees
and two large railed paddocks. Some may feel, at first
glance, that a three bedroomed house is not large enough.
However, with the option of a teenage or guest suite over
the garage, there is ample scope to accommodate all!
The main house, a former granary, was virtually rebuilt
by the vendors in 2000. It is of stone and elm clad
elevations with bespoke hardwood windows and doors.
The design was carefully considered to create an old and
characterful feel, whilst combining modern convenience.
Many of the original oak beams have been salvaged and
used throughout the house and appear in every room.
There is oil fired central heating and a ‘Lutron’ designer
lighting system in many rooms.
26 THROUGH THE KEY HOLE
Perfectly picturesque
Sharon Chilcott visits an imposing, contemporary-styled property
firmly rooted in the Lower Wye Valley’s industrial past
It now boasts one of the most tranquil, rural
locations imaginable but around 150 years ago Mill
House in Whitebrook would have been at the hub
of a busy and noisy industrial site.
Its current owners, Denise Yapp and Chris Stroud,
believe the original house was built in the 1830s by the
owner of the adjacent, water-powered paper mill, at
which point it was quite a lot smaller than it is today.
It was added to about 50 years later, further extended
later in the Victorian era and during their tenure has
been extended again to make a truly exceptional home
set in about four acres of grounds.
The picturesque gardens now laid out around Mill
House incorporate the mill ponds and the derelict
paper mill, originally known as Fernside Mill. This
Grade II listed industrial building is one of several
paper mills which operated in Whitebrook up until the
late 1800s. The furthest upstream, it is likely to have
been the last to be built and is the only complete paper
mill surviving in the Whitebrook Valley and possibly
the only one left in Wales. “At one point, there were 75
women working in it and they were making paper for
the £5 bank note,” says Denise.
She and her husband, Chris, moved into Mill House
in November 2006 and immediately started making
improvements, which included updating the décor to
give a more contemporary feel. By May the following
year they were ready to open it to the public as an
art gallery, having filled it with paintings from top to
bottom. Over the years, the entire house – even the
family bathroom – has been used as exhibition space
but now the upper floors are filled with the couple’s
own personal purchases and most of the paintings on
show are displayed in the entrance hallway and in the
large ground floor room of an impressive extension,
built of stone and faced in oak and added in 2010.
This light and airy room has a modern inbuilt open
fireplace at one end and at the other end are double
doors opening to the side garden. The space was
originally intended as a family room when the couple’s
four children were at home, but now, as well as serving
as a gallery, it doubles up as a party room and a cinema
room.
Upstairs, the seamlessly incorporated extension
also provides a spectacular master bedroom, open to
the eaves and with a full width floor to ceiling window
giving wonderful views over the garden. From a
dressing room at the back of the master suite stairs lead
up to a mezzanine which the couple use as their gym.
Off the dressing room there is also a luxurious en-suite
wet room converted from one of the original bedrooms.
The property also has a guest room with an en-suite
and three further double bedrooms served by a stylish
family bathroom with a teak bath and matching sink
unit.
The hub of the house is the open plan kitchen,
dining area and living room. Once three separate
rooms, this lovely, large space stretches all along one
27
side of the house and leads into a conservatory
which Denise uses as her office and which opens
to a terrace and a pretty, enclosed cottage garden.
The kitchen is sleek and stylish and clutterfree
and fitted with Italian cherry wood units.
Reconfiguring it was one of the early changes the
couple made when they first moved in. “Chris
and I both love to cook and this wasn’t a cook’s
kitchen. It had a big central island and we found
ourselves constantly dancing round it so we
rejigged the layout. We added more units, had
granite worktops installed, created a peninsular
and blocked a doorway to make space for the
American fridge freezer and additional units. It is
now a very easy, useable space.”
Although the couple find themselves spending
most of their time in the cosy kitchen/dining
living room, the house also provides more formal
living and entertaining space. The front door
opens to a large entrance hallway with an original
flagstone floor and open fireplace. This hallway
leads to the reception hall from which a grand
staircase leads to the galleried landing, which
has a vaulted ceiling and light flooding in from
windows set around it. This makes an imposing
first impression and Denise has introduced a
fresh, contemporary feel by staining the pine
balustrading black, stripping and painting
the pine doors leading off to match and using
luxurious carpeting on the stairs.
One of the doors from the reception hall leads
off to an elegant, contemporary-styled sitting
room with a stripped, stained wooden floor and
a wood burning stove in the fireplace. This light
and airy room has three large sash windows.
“The windows were curtained before but I took
them down to give a better view of the garden,”
says Denise. And what a view! “The garden was a
major project,” she explains. She employed two
locally-based, award-winning designers, Cheryl
Cummings and Peter Dowle, to help her plan and
landscape it just the way she envisaged. “I wanted
it to remain in the style of a country house,” she
explains. “I didn’t want it to be too formal as it
leads to fields and trees at the back.”
Favourite thing
It took 18 months to lay out the carefully planned
gardens but they set off the property magnificently and
Denise cannot disguise her pride and delight in them.
She particularly loves the view over the garden from
her bedroom window. “It’s stunning,” she says.
Close to the house is a very well maintained stable block
with six stables and a tack room. With this in mind the
top meadow could easily be made into a paddock for
several horses or ponies.
Again, for recreation there is a superb swimming pool
adjacent to the house with its own pool house which
boasts a kitchen area and a shower room. The pool house
is used occasionally as additional guest accommodation.
The house is approached from the road via an electric
gate and a very long tree lined driveway which leads
to a further gravelled driveway area with a raised stone
fountain immediately to the front of the house.
Additional parking can be found to the rear by the coach
house which also has a car port.
garage/covered parking parking parking parking
The grounds are believed to be in the region of 17
acres but prospective buyers are advised to have this
professionally confirmed. No expense has been spared in
the landscaping of the parkland gardens and they retain a
very wide variety of deciduous trees, conifers and shrubs
planted over many years. Beyond the house to the rear
there is the private lake and a gazebo with seating areas
to the side. Further beyond the lake is a large meadow
and this portion of the grounds could easily be used as a
paddock for horses and ponies.
34 ADVICE
The role of an adviser does not end when the mortgage has been agreed
and completed. They will have a duty of care to the client to make sure
their home and lifestyle is protected in the event of a sudden change in
personal circumstances.
Martin Newell,
It will be a condition of the mortgage that buildings insurance is in place. Blestium Financial
The mortgage lender will also recommend that a suitable amount of life insurance is in place too.
How much does it cost?
Often just a few pence a day is all you need to provide your loved ones with plenty of
financial protection (depending on your age and health status).
Did you know?
Monthly payments (also known as premiums) do vary, so it’s a good idea to shop around. An
adviser will be able to get quotes from various providers.
Check exactly what is covered for the level of the monthly payment.
The price you pay for a life insurance policy depends on a number of things. These include:
your age; your health; your lifestyle; whether you smoke; the length of the policy; the amount of
money you want to cover; the length of the policy. For example, the younger you are and the less
likely you’re to die from a medical condition, the cheaper your policy is likely to be.
Other types of insurance to consider
Insurance
Life insurance covers the worst-case scenario, but it’s also important to consider how you
might pay your bills or your mortgage if you couldn’t work because of illness or injury.
• Do you need income protection insurance? This type of insurance provides regular payments
if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury
• Do you need critical illness insurance? This type of policy will provide you with a tax-free
‘lump sum’ if you’re diagnosed with a serious illness covered by your policy.
• Do you need short term protection insurance? This solution provides short term cover to
help you pay for essential outgoings if you find yourself unable to work.
Blestium Financial Services are able to arrange any of the above for you and will take
the stress away from the process by researching the marketplace and completing all of the
application forms. Blestium Financial Services will not charge a fee to you.
Property Disputes
Buying, selling and owning residential property can be very
stressful where problems may arise during the initial stages through
misrepresentation of information, poor professional service or the
condition of the property on completion of the transaction.
The problems can continue throughout ownership with neighbour and
boundary disputes, high hedges, party wall issues, excessive noise, parking
and driveway access, and planning permission.
As a landlord or tenant of a leasehold property, disputes may arise over the
interpretation of the lease or tenancy agreement, deposits, rent reviews, repossession,
rent recovery and claims for disrepair.
Owning a property jointly, receiving financial help from a parent or grandparent
to assist in purchasing , and an elderly person sharing ownership or occupation are
all common scenarios where lawyers are rarely involved in the early stages of the
transaction, or where the advice given has been inadequate, giving rise to disputes
when the relationship breaks down.
At Gwyn James Solicitors, we appreciate that those involved will wish to resolve
or avoid the dispute as quickly as possible with costs kept to a minimum. We
have both the expertise and the experience to assist you in resolving your dispute
efficiently with the minimum of stress. Our Dispute Resolution Team will listen
carefully to you to gain a full understanding of the issues giving rise to the dispute
and practical advice will be given to assist you in taking control of the situation as
well as offering you legal representation where required.
Getting it right at the onset can avoid disputes in the future. Gwyn James
Solicitors can guide you through the complex field of property law and estate
planning, including: advice on property ownership; establishing a trust or formal
agreement where property is jointly owned, a financial contribution made or sharing
occupation with others; and dealing with issues relating to your property on being
admitted into care or on your death or the death of a joint owner.
Top tips on how to
keep your home cool
this summer
It’s safe to say that as much as we in Britain look forward to a bit of sunshine,
whenever it arrives we suddenly find ourselves struggling to keep cool; even in
our own homes we can feel as though we’re walking around in a sauna.
Your first instinct may be to throw money at the problem by booking an
air conditioner installation service, but this may not be the best solution.
Depending on the state of your home, there could be several cheaper
methods for keeping your home cool in the summer, some of which could
benefit you all year round.
Stephen Jury, spokesperson at Plentific, had this to say: “When you get
home after a hot day in the office, the last thing you want is to step inside a
warm house. Before extreme measures of air conditioning are taken, other
smaller, and considerably cheaper options are available.
Here at Plentific, we understand how uncomfortable it can be to feel hot
and sticky at home, so we’ve put together a guide on how to keep your home
cool this summer:
Install insulation
Now, you might be suspicious of this one. Most of the time, we think of
insulation as something that keeps our homes warm during winter. While it is
true that insulation will stop heat from exiting your home, it can also help to
keep it out.
In a nutshell, insulation works by preventing the passage of heat, typically
through walls, lofts or roofs. This capability will stop heat from entering into
your home during summer, while also making it easier to maintain your
property’s internal temperature.
If you do not have insulation in your home, the best place to start will be
with a loft insulation installation service. Most roofs are built with materials
that absorb heat and then transfer it into the space below; in other words, your
loft. This can heat up a house, but by insulating your loft you can ensure that
the heat stays concentrated in your attic. Want to check if it’s working? Head
up to your loft: it will be roasting.
Tree and ivy planting
One of the best ways to stay cool this summer will be to give yourself some
shade. Planting trees in your garden will provide this while also adding variety
and beauty to your outdoor space. Plant a fruit tree, and you’ll also have a
healthy crop to enjoy in a
few years.
The disadvantage of
this option is that once
you have planted a tree,
it can take a while to pay
off. An alternative is to
grow a seasonal creeping
plant, such as ivy, over a
wooden trellis or pergola.
Although this will require
more maintenance, it can
give you a simple, quick and attractive source of shade that you’ll be able to
enjoy all summer long.
Get cooking
outside
While it may sound like a bit
of a no-brainer, a lot of heat in the
home is generated in the kitchen.
Cooking over a hot stove in the middle of summer can quickly become
unbearable, so why not take your cooking outside?
Barbecuing is one of the best parts of summer: they make cooking outdoors
a lot of fun, give you a chance to experience different tastes and also create
plenty of opportunities for enjoying yourself with friends and family. While
there are plenty of high end BBQ models, you could easily create a brick BBQ
for yourself if you wanted something that will really impress.
If you wanted to take your outdoor cooking a step further, why not speak
to a landscape designer about creating an outdoor kitchen? These can be built
with attached water taps, gas hobs and even built-in appliances.
Paint it white
Have you ever been on holiday to the Mediterranean and wondered why
everyone paints their homes white? There’s a very simple reason: white surfaces
reflect heat.
Still, while a full exterior wall painting job for your property might seem
like a simple solution, it may not be completely practical, partly because you
will struggle to gain planning permission for it! However, painting your roof,
or even booking a reflective roof installation service, will deflect a great deal of
heat from your property. You could also invest in white curtains and blinds to
help reflect heat away from your windows.
As luck would have it, painting your home white also has other advantages.
White is a fairly neutral colour that holds a lot of universal appeal. This could,
in turn, make your home much more appealing when you come to sell it.
White walls can also help to make a room feel warm and open, and the last
thing you want on a stuffy day is for a room to feel claustrophobic.
Turn off appliances
In this hot weather, it may be tempting to put off doing chores for as long
as possible. You might be glad to hear that you have an excuse: appliances can
generate a great deal of heat.
Appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers use a huge amount
of hot water , and running them during the hottest parts of the day will raise
the temperature in your home. You can avoid this by waiting until the evening
and putting them on just before you head to bed.
Cutting down on your appliance usage will also be a big help when it
comes to cooling your home. If you have a habit of leaving electronic devices
such as computers or televisions on, start switching them off when they are not
in use. Instead of using your tumble drier, set clothes to dry on a line outside.
June house prices
drop for the first
time since 2009
The latest report from Rightmove has revealed that during June, house prices fell 0.4% -
the first drop this year and the first June fall since 2009.
According to Rightmove’s data, the number of
sales agreed at this time of year is the second
highest for ten years, only slightly lower than
the high of May 2014. However the monthly price dip
has seen the annual rate of price increase slow to 1.8%,
the lowest since April 2013.
The analysis shows that markets are “performing at
different speeds and levels” depending upon geography
and sector.
The number of sales agreed compared to a year ago
is up markedly more in the northern regions than in the
South. All regions are up on the post-stamp-duty lull
period of May 2016, with a national uplift of 7%, but
the northern average of 11% far outstrips the southern
average of 3%.
This follows through to property prices with the
London (-2.4%) and South East (-0.9%) regions
recording the largest monthly falls in the price of
property coming to market. These London and South
East figures account for a significant proportion of the
total market and have dragged down the national figure
which would be in positive territory without these two
slower-performing regions.
The typical first-time buyer sector with two
bedrooms and fewer is now the fastest growing sector,
and has seen newly-listed prices surge by 3.5% monthon-month
and 5.5% year-on-year.
Miles Shipside, Rightmove director, commented: “It
now seems certain that we will have continuing political
uncertainty, which the housing market traditionally
dislikes, and with the first fall in June prices for eight
years there is no doubt that the lack of stability is a
factor. The price of property coming to the market
had increased in June in every year since 2009, so
buyer confidence has clearly been affected by inflation
outstripping their pay packets and current political
events. However, demand is still high and markets in
some parts of the country seem to be getting used to
coping with instability and are still strong. The high
levels of sales being agreed show that the underlying
fundamentals are largely unchanged with high first-time
buyer demand which drives movement higher up the
ladder, all aided by the cheap cost of borrowing.
The swingometer may be leaning towards a buyers’
market in some parts of the country, having been given
another tilt in that direction by political uncertainty,
but demand for housing and lack of buyer choice are
maintaining a sellers’ market in others. London and
its commuter belt are proving to be a drag on the
national figures, but are currently counter-balanced by
continuing momentum in other parts of the country.
Markets traditionally slow in the second half of the
year, and with a slowing in the pace of asking price rises
and the forthcoming months of political and economic
confusion, the usual slower market in the second half of
the year seems to be one of the few certainties in 2017.
Having said that, the historic under-supply of the right
property at the right price and ongoing strong housing
demand are evidenced by buyer enquiries to agents
picking up to a degree after the surprise election result.
They were 3% higher on the Monday after the election
than the Monday before, showing that people are getting
on with addressing their housing needs.”
Russell Quirk, founder and CEO of eMoov.co.uk,
had this to say: “Anyone that claims the political
landscape has no direct impact on the UK housing
market need only to look at the latest index from
Rightmove to be told otherwise.
Yes, the portals data may not provide the most
concrete view of how the sector is performing due to
the figures being based on asking price rather than
completions, but it certainly gives us a flavour of the
current buyer-seller market seesaw.
With the snap election in June, it is no wonder
price momentum stalled as both buyer and seller alike
held off until some greater stability for the nation was
decided. Unfortunately, stability was the last thing we
received at the start of the month and so not only will
this period of uncertainty now be prolonged, but it is
likely the market will continue to splutter where price
growth is concerned.
That said, it is probably unfair to be drawing
comparisons to the market during the peak of the
credit crunch as we are in a much steadier climate then
compared to now. Although price growth is likely to
remain stagnant for the rest of the year, it is unlikely
that we will see any notable dips, perhaps a marginal
adjustment if any.”
Draft Tenants’ Fees Bill bans ‘lettings fees’
David Cox, Chief Executive, ARLA Propertymark has commented on the draft Tenants’ Fees Bill
to ban charging tenants ‘lettings fees’ announced in the Queen’s Speech.
David says “The announcement of the draft Tenants’ Fees Bill today was
disappointing. It’s unlikely the Government had enough time to analyse all of
the responses from the consultation, as it only closed 12 working days ago,
on the 2nd June. It appears they had already made their decision and therefore the
consultation was no more than a ‘tick box’ exercise and they haven’t appropriately
taken the industry’s views into account.
“A ban on letting agent fees will cost the sector jobs, make buy-to-let investment
even less attractive, and ultimately result in the costs being passed on to tenants.
Research conducted by Capital Economics for ARLA Propertymark1 earlier this year
shows that referencing checks undertaken by agents take, on average, eight hours to
complete. It is therefore right and proportionate that the industry is recompensed for
this work, which benefits tenants. The research also showed that letting agents stand
to lose around £200 million in turnover, costing the sector 4,000 jobs. Landlords
themselves would lose £300 million, meaning they may seek to cover their losses by
increasing rents to tenants.
“On average, rent costs will go up by £103 per tenant, per year, ultimately
meaning tenants who move more frequently will reap savings on their overall costs
but longer term tenants, who are usually lower income families, will see a loss as their
rents rise year-on-year. The ban contradicts the Government’s stated aim to encourage
longer term tenancies, as tenants who stay in their homes for the long-term will end
up shouldering the costs of those who move more frequently.”

Rents continue to rise in Spain
Following on from the Spainish Investment article in Property Drop Issue 4, the latest report featured on
propertyinvestor.co.uk agrees the rental asking prices are increasing fast across many parts of Spain, particularly
in hot markets like Barcelona and the Balearics; an attractive proposition for property investors.
Rental asking prices in Spain increased 8.8% on average over three months to
the end of March, according to the latest figures from Idealista.com.
The Spanish property portal found that the average rental asking price was
almost €9sqm (£7.90) per month at the end of March, based on more than 56,000
rental listings in the portal’s database.
Rents are highest in Barcelona, where landlords ask €18sqm (£15.90) a month,
followed by Madrid €15sqm (£13.20) per month.
And according to another big portal, Fotocasa.es, rents rose 1.3% between April
and May to €8sqm (£7.05), an annualised increase of 10.5% compared to May last
year.
“So the rental asking price figures coming from the biggest portals appear to
tell the same story – that rents are rising fast in Spain after almost a decade in the
doldrums, with rising demand and limited supply feeding price pressures,” said
Spanish property expert Mark Stucklin.
The founder and editor of Spanish Property Insight continued: “Spain still has
some of the highest owner-occupier rates in Europe, partly because Spaniards have
tended to see paying rent as throwing away money.
“But the property crash, and credit crunch that came with it, compounded by high
and regressive transaction costs, have forced more Spaniards than ever into the rental
market, especially the young.”
Stucklin believes that fast rising rents will attract the attention of local and
international property investors.
He added: “Though Spanish rental yields are not dazzling at around 3% to 4%
gross in a city like Barcelona, they are significantly better than alternatives like
government bonds, and look less risky.
“I expect small investors to continue opting for Spanish property for the
foreseeable future.”
We would like to share this recent Aluminium Skyroom extension with you and explain a little
about the process involved with creating such a beautiful build.
The beginning stages of your extension can be daunting at times with so many elements to
consider. Will you need planning permission? Would you prefer your material choice to be
Aluminium or uPVC? What colour roof system, doors or windows will you decide on? All of
these decisions can be made easily with the help of our team. Many years experience within the
industry has enabled them to help you design the build that is right for you and your home.
Marrying in with the style and era of your property whilst simultaneously complimenting and
enhancing your home.
Once construction is underway, our project manager will keep you updated with every element
of your new build whilst our trusted builders, fitters, joiners, electricians and plasterers display
the highest level of professionalism. If you would like to learn more, please visit our fantastic
show-site, website or social media pages for more information.
“We have twice been very happy customers of your company in the last 9 months. Last year
we had a conservatory and, from the initial chats with Chris through to its completion, we were
most impressed with both how we were treated as customers and how professional and skillful
were each of your team of installers. The conservatory really did exceed our expectations and
has proved to be a very flexible size and shape. Having the aluminium roof frame meant that
we are totally unaware of the roof supporting bar.
Then we came back to you recently to explore options for a new front door with a side panel.
Not easy to get the style we wanted in a colour scheme which matched adjacent areas of our
house. But your patience with us paid off! The new door looks just right. Two quality jobs both
completed in a very commendable way -- thank you so much!”
