Girls Basketball
Greenwich House Girls Basketball is
a non-competitive league that gives
young women a chance to have fun
while building self-esteem, teaching how
to win and lose gracefully and work in
collaboration, and instilling the discipline
to faithfully attend practices as well
as games.
No experience is necessary as
volunteer coaches, who have a love for
basketball, are hands-on in teaching the
fundamentals of the sport. All participants
receive a team trophy at the end of
the season. Players also benefit from
an annual clinic run by the Columbia
University Women’s Basketball Team.
Practices are held Friday nights with
games on Saturdays.

Juniors (ages 9 - 11)

Portfolio Building
Saturday, September 30 - November 4
$400
This class is designed for serious students
who want to build their portfolio for
admission to specialized high schools and
colleges. Traditional drawing and painting
skills will be taught using still life,
landscape, figurative subject matter and
perspective drawing. As well, students are
given opportunities to work on
experimental and abstract art projects.
Sketchbooks are provided to each student
to work both in and out of class.
At the conclusion of the program, each
student selects work suitable for inclusion in
their portfolios.
