Small Poppy grants<br />

If you need a little help getting your new idea<br />

<strong>of</strong>f the ground, apply for a Small Poppy<br />

Neighbourhood grant. The grants are given out<br />

to residents for clever ideas that create a sense<br />

<strong>of</strong> community in your neighbourhood, from a<br />

communal compost bin to a tool exchange or<br />

Hindmarsh has relaxation down to a fine art over summer. Boxing Day races at Nhill have fun for all<br />

ages with beauty contests, tab on course, book makers and fine calibre <strong>of</strong> horse racing. The redfin are<br />

biting at Lake Hindmarsh and in the Wimmera River or try catching a yabby or two. accommodation<br />

Share the journey with friends<br />

The Elwood MS support circle is a new support<br />

group for the family, friends and carers <strong>of</strong><br />

people with MS. Find support and fun with<br />

friends. Dinner provided, BYO drinks.<br />

People with MS are also invited to be part <strong>of</strong><br />

the St Kilda MS peer support group, which has<br />

Open Day<br />

Experience a French weekend in <strong>Port</strong> <strong>Phillip</strong><br />

with the alliance Française de Melbourne. The<br />

gates <strong>of</strong> the prestigious Eildon Mansion will<br />

open and <strong>of</strong>fer free French language trial classes<br />

and assessments, arts and craft, storytelling,<br />

French food court, market stalls, film screenings,<br />

Lanterns to light up<br />

Catani Gardens<br />

The redfin are biting<br />

in Lake Hindmarsh<br />

The Planetary Healing artists association will<br />

bring together people from different faiths and<br />

beliefs to decorate the rotunda in Catani<br />

gardens with paper lanterns. The event will<br />

feature indigenous presentations, interfaith<br />

prayers, music, and spiritual groups to celebrate<br />

the summer solstice. The community are invited<br />

to bring their own paper lanterns to be part <strong>of</strong><br />

the healing.<br />
